Gotta agree that WOs screwing up training minutes is really annoying. I hope this is one of the areas the game designers are looking into as they reevaluate the effects of teams tanking games.

It has been stated multiple times that walkovers are working as intended, the intention being that no game should guarantee 48 minutes to a player with absolute certainty.

I agree that nothing much can be done to the minutes aspect(maybe bump it up to 45?) but the team that doesn't set a lineup should be SEVERELY penalized and maybe banned for more than 3 offenses. Also, a team should be FORCED to set a default lineup. Rules really need to get stricter..

I suggest a 5-year prison sentence. These thugs need to learn their lesson.

I completely understand that logic, but the only way a player doesn't get to play 48 minutes is if he is either injured or fouls out. Both of these scenarios can be accounted for by the actual game simulation. I can see why having blow-out scores can negatively effect the standings (hence to 25-0 score), but I think transferring the actually minutes played might be more appropriate for not penalizing the team that actually showed up to play. Anyways... I can put this in the suggestions forum. I was initially just empathizing with the original poster.

Not really true -- your player can be and often does get subbed if he gets too tired.

No-one is being penalized. You can get any single minute in the game assigned to a player, if you order your lineup correctly. You're somehow implying that getting 48 minutes at one position is some sort of a reasonable expectation for a game -- it is not.

Anyways... I can put this in the suggestions forum. I was initially just empathizing with the original poster.
You could, and it has been put in that forums before -- I'm just relaying what the response was from the BB team.

My trainees get 48 minutes a game at one position all the time, so from my point of view it is somewhat reasonable. Obviously it's not guaranteed due to injuries and foul outs, but it works probably 75% of the time. I still maintain that not having this as a possibility at all in a walk over is a slight penalty.

That makes sense. I meant to say that while 48 minutes is a likely outcome, there is no expectation of certainty for this -- I guess it didn't come out very clear.

Yes, I can agree with you that having a 100% chance of not getting 48 minutes in a walkover can be considered a penalty of sorts. My understanding is that that the intent of the developers is to have trainees play in multiple games in order to receive training minutes, and everything else is a "do it at your own risk" type of affair -- that is to say blowouts are functioning as expected.
