Imho collecting the loose ball after an block shot is recorded as a rebound, but the reset of the shot clock is on the to do list when they feel comfortable to work on the Gameengine.

but also the time betwen miss shot and the rebound is a loose ball situation, so maybe you don't ask for a change? Since crediting a blocker for a steal, just because he hit the ball out of another player hand to one of his team mates sounds weird to me.
