I'd like to get profit maybe by the start of next season. And the second player I'm planning on keeping for my team as a backup potentially. Like I said I plan on keeping 2 permanently and selling 1 for $$$ gain

You might want to check out the Training Simulator (229484.1) to help you decide what training regimen to use. And you might want to look at the USA U21/NT training guides (174881.1) to get a sense of what a good player will look like.
