You missed my point. My point is that players who plays more than 40 minutes will lose so much in capacity that the bench player must be really poor to not be played instead. As it is today a 40k player could get over 40 minutes even with a 20k backup player. If you got a backup player that is that close in capacity it does not make sense that he is used so little in a game. Currently you can have even 3k players as backup to a 100k player without being punished as the 100k player seems to be able to play really well for his full minutes. You get punished in terms of game shape but this punishment you can pretty well compensate for by training game shape which basically means that you can almost use only 5 players and let them play 48 minutes every league match ...

great post, i kept meaning to suggest the removal of GS training. from a tactical angle i get that you can give up training, but from a realism angle it doesnt make any sense. its BB's form of performance enhancing drugs, time to reform.

strictly follow depth chart uses starters too much and LCD (set, not blank) is even worse. in competitive leagues those two options make it challenging to play your best team twice. LCD blank is the best at mins distribution but youre forced to give up control and trust the GE. Plus LCD blank always has a handful of odd subs, particularly when a player is shooting FT's and it has to sub in another player, forcing the FT shooter way out of position.

dealing with the the imbalances outlined above feels like dealing with an old car that needs extra attention to keep going.

3) Decrease the maximum time for starters so that it with Let Coach Decide at most is around 40 minutes a match. Today it is usually close to 48 minutes even if you have a backup player at spot two in position. My wish is that your backup players should have a more decisive role for the matches than I think they have right now. It would as well make sense that you rotate with 8 players instead of 10.

I agree. It's impossible to equally split minutes between two players on same position, unless it's a blowout. I guess BBs don't want us to be able to manage minutes perfectly because it would make keeping players at Proficient GS too easy. Also Stamina doesn't have as big impact as it should. In this game (19776), France's C had Stamina 4 at that time. Increase Stamina's importance and "Let coach decide" option will be much more realistic.
