When you get a def. RB, then a lay-up at the other end by the same player in 1 sec., it is NOT a fast break, it's ridiculousness.
I think it's hard to introduce FBs without some sort of an athletic skill.

really? i swear i looked at this a couple of seasons ago.. has it changed recently?

ok ill ook at another game again now

in most recent game there were 4 "ball stolen' comments.
2 resulted in buckets 5 seconds after the steal
the other 2 resulted in turn overs

that was for BOTH teams. the other team had no comments to this affect, but he did have 8 steals, so.i also serched for "threw the ball away"

3 instances of threw the ball away - only one had a resultant shot after 5 seconds, the other 2 had subs, which suggests out of bounds.

"Intercepted a pass" is another comment which could result in fast break - there were quite a few of these, which balanced the books for steal statistics.... but only 4 resulted in fast break attempts (less than 10 seconds is what i counted, most were after 5 seconds).

so basically for an entire game, 4 plus 1 plus 4 = 9 fast break attempts off of steals, from both teams, total. (did i miss something?) maybe only 7 if u exclude those turnovers.

yerrrrrrrrrrrrr, its borderline...a recent NBA game had 28 points off of fast breaks, with one team only getting 4.... so if u took away fast breaks from rebounds, then MAYBE this number coming out of BB is acceptable.

so at this stage maybe all that really would need to happen is slightly better wording on the shot that occurs afterwards - because at the moment it still sounds like the player on the fast break isnt on a fast break
eg: "Quick drop-step move leads to a two-handed dunk by Player X off of a nice pass from Player Y. Scored."

hows that sound? :)
