Still, surely, it must be a bug.
I mean 43% is BB saying "we do not encourage daytrading".
It's a fair statement, regardless of whether you agree with it or not.
4% would be BB saying "beep you".

First thing first.
If there have been cases lower than 4% that you know of(and i have no intention not to believe you), then the aforementioned situation is not a bug.

Now, about bb saying "no daytrading" at 4%, well it actually says when the rule of not being able to sell a newly purchased player for some days, comes into play.
This is "no daytrading". You're not allowed to sell yet, period.

But when(knowingly to bb):
The market is gone crazy.
There are no players.
The prices are off the charts.
Teams have to resort into buying older players.
Older players pop down and need getting rid off sooner.

Then:
You want to sell an old player that you recently bought, it says 43% two weeks after you got him and decide to wait it out a bit longer to be able to pay less taxes.
And a week later (three weeks now after purchase) it says 4% because you sold other oldies in the meantime,

it doen't sound like "no daytrading to me"...

It would actually be fairer, in my mind, if they actually forbade selling newly bought players for a longer period of time than the existing one.

At those ages, double pop downs are pretty common and there aren't many players that can afford a double pop down.
At his (players')salaries, even single pop ups can ruin skilsets.

I didn't propose a solution. What i said is i'd prefer BB telling me that i am not allowed yet to sell a player than telling me i can sell sell but will be taxed 96%.
The first would be (arguearbly)strict but straightforward, the second is taking the mickey.

This is clearly one of the reasons why peeps are turning away from this great game. I understand the daytrader argument but if a manager chooses to change their whole team because they dont like their long term plans with the current roster (my reason) why the hell should i be punished? Where is the manager's freedom to manage how they wish? If daytraders have nothing better to do with their lives than sit around on bb waiting to make money good on them.

This 4% sale price is absurd and really makes me rethink the directiin bb is going. I started that thread in the forms seasons ago (is bb dying a slow death?) To generate discussion and get peeps to put ideas forth. I have never felt bb was going to die.

Now im not so sure. One of the great features this game has (had) was it allowed for a range of managing styles.

Im pissed off right now. Ive decided to go back to training but cant hunt for quality trainees because i cant even sell playets for a 'reasonable' sale.

Not good enough bb

That makes it clear that you don't understand how daytrading damages BB. Or it was your anger and not your brain speaking.

Yes, anger but i dont think i grasp the damage daytraders are doing so would be happy to hear your thoughts. Other than the obvious inflated prices which isnt their sole doing.

@maddog, completely agree with all your comments +1

BB says i cant sell 15 players without significant fines/consequences? Why not? My team, my business. I lise massive money when doing so given the limited time these guys have been on my roster. I have to wear that. I understand that.

But not being able to sell 15 players if i choose to? Why not? It's a serious question because while im all for many of the changes to bb one thing i will always speak up about is manager choice when it comes to rosters and managing them.

The other issue i have, which i just discovered, is that a few players i listed had, at the time of putting them up for sale, shown that i would receive 40-50% of sale price; however, whether because i sold a few (and there is some kind of cummalative effect) i actually received something like 15-20% (havent calculated exact % yet)!

So, i was told i would receive x % when put player on market but when player actually sold the % was significantly lower. What the?

If this is true and is BB policy it's pretty shady. Even more shady if it's not mentioned anywhere (a quick scan of the transfer part of the game manual doesn't mention it). Haven't experienced it myself though, so someone else backing up this info is needed.

As for the general topic, I think it's too restricted. I kind've get the issue with daytrading but correctly identifying an undervalued player is a skill in itself, if you put in the time to research the transfermarket and the time to bid, this should be a valid way of making a profit imo. (as I said, there's some value in limiting it, but I'd probably halve the current numbers)
