The media is all up on Harden and Westbrook and if it where to be one of those 2 it will likely be Harden i think as his team will finish with a better record than Westbrooks.
Allthough i personally think Westbrook is overall the better player of those 2( Harden doesn't know what Defense is)

But in all honesty Kawhi should get it, he might actually be the best player in the NBA right now.
He isn't as flashy as the other contenders but his game does the talking: 2 time defensive player of the year and now he's also become an offensive superstar.
He deserves it.

People like to get on Harden for his defense, but this season he has shown a more consistent effort. I remember at least 2 instances where he hustled and got a chasedown block.

Westbrook has racked up all those triple doubles, but sometimes his bigs let him grab rebounds or he snatches them away. Also, as a fan of him, I feel like his triple-double feat could be spurred by a little bit of selfishness.

Kawhi continues to do what he's been doing since 2013 and it seems as if people keep forgetting how good he is on both ends of the floor.

History and Rockets fans like myself say James Harden will win it, but if all 3 were out, I believe OKC would be the team with the worst record (out of the 3 teams).

Kawhi? I agree. His recent performance when the Spurs demolished the Cavs made me think Kawhi should be considered.

I should also add that James has once again had an excellent season and in may ways is, for me, the best in the game...

RW0!
James Harden is great too in this season, but Russel is just insane! It will be probably one of the best individual stats in regular season in history.
People can complan that he is selfish and have many turnovers, but same as Harden. And even Harden couldn't twist that stats. Other players are "just good" (Curry, James) or play in good team (Kawhi)

Unlikely. Teammates look bad on the OKC roster precisely because of the ball-hog.

To me it goes like this:
1 Harden
2 Westbrook
3 Kawhi
4 LeBron
5 Curry-Durant
7 Thomas
8 Wall
9 Hayward
10 Chris Paul

I personally think that the MVP award should go to Kawhi Leonard mainly because hes is an ideal two way unstoppable force and is the best player on the 2nd best team in the League.
Curry and Lebron James who are probably the best two players in the league, wont rack up many votes despite being on the best teams in their conferences, mainly due to sharing the ball with superstars and very high expectations from their previous seasons which make their current seasons which are definitely MVP worthy ones,a step down from their peak years.

However, i think Jmaes Harden who is having an amazing offensive season will probably get the nudge over Russ because of his team's better position as the history of the award suggests.
Needless to say i think its probably the most wide open race for the MVP, with Gordon Hayward,John Wall and Isaiah Thomas putting up career years to lead their team to a very respectable position in the standings.
