I think the question of not being able to keep finances in the black needs to be asked on an individual basis, rather than at game level.

Check your expenditures, be at you're having too highly paid staff or maybe too much scouting, for I have no problems keeping my finances healthy while remaining competitive. And I haven't sold anyone for over a season.

If it's not your expenditure....

It's your revenue. You haven't been expanding your arena even though it's been sold out. That is where your money is going. It's all going down the drain because your wallet isn't big enough to hold it. =)

I have to agree here, i was 21-1 last season and went to the finals so i got revenue for the whole season and upgraded my arena so i never sold out. I got like 200 more fans added to my season ticket holders which doesnt help at all really. I only put 10k into scouting, i have a 9 trainer and a 7 pr and a 1 in doc so thats about average id say at 20k.

what is killing me is my players salaries tripled for a few players which doubled my player salaries ttoal so before where i was losing money slowly then getting it back from a tv revenue game or something, now i am adding 20k a week to that number which over 11 weeks will take 220k away. Thats what i have saved up so ill survive 1 more season if i dont touch anything...

The Merchandise revenue was reset, do the fans have no memory? If my team just went 21-1 and went to the playoffs i would think revenue would be up at least in the beginning of the year when fans would still be excited about last years accomplishments and it would be up to your new start where it went from there.

With the huge raise in player salaries i just think they needed to add a little more in income, someone even newer then me with a smaller arena would be suffering worse as my team isnt set up any different then a real life team. 5 starters 5 benchers and 2 for trainign from the last draft, i didnt have the 2 extra last season either.

Maybe some money frm sponsers...........or a bump in the sales revenue........

Yes there are things i could take away, i could fire my best players and suck even more or i could fire my trainers so my team doesnt improve but thats just not going to happen, i will go down with the ship:0

You simply can't afford to have 9lvl trainer and 7lvl PR:)

I'm in III also, and I think I'm able to keep my lvl 7 PR and lvl 9 coach, and I even made some small newb mistakes. :-)

Wanting too much too fast is wat gives financial problems...

When you're asking for more ways of income, every player will receive them.
=> everybode has more money, buying better players, competing harder, buying even better players, getting into financial trouble, asking for more income...
First your econ, then the results.
