We believe in you! Unlucky defeat.

Normal beats home court advantage I suppose.

I guess I'm easily frustrated given that the first game screwing our whole tournament was already the theme last season...
It was a 2pt loss against a mots which made no sense, cause it was quite automatically eliminating our opponent, and this time a tight loss with unfriendly GE and schedule...

I wanted to give you more than first round eliminations in European Tournament.

I'll do my best for the next games but there will be no miracle without a 8-0 record...

Roster presentation

The NT prospects

Followed by min0ff, they represent the majority of our backcourt :
- Kostadin Spasov (50494815), trained by direct, should be our starting point guard.
- Borislav Iliev (50570342) and Selçuk Alsoy (50494655), are both trained by nikito. The first should be the starting shooting guard while the second should be a backup.
- Todor Ragin (50494789), trained by Dreamy, is set to be a backup.
- Ivaylo Lozanchev (50815363), actually in Finland after being initially trained by Dreamy, should be one of our backups.
- Nikola Petkov (50494762), trained by GM-Nik0, is an interesting player given he's a big guy mostly trained on the outside skills at the moment. His position will change depending on his game shape and evolution.

The other 21yo

They lack potential or TSP for the NT, but they will be extremely important for the U21 this season :
- Dimitar Romanov (50623513), freshly sold and now in Greece, his game shape dramatically dropped when it mattered the most. He should compete for a starting spot once in good shape.
- Dimitar Vasilev (50814820), trained by Funnys, was supposed to be our starting power forward. But his bad game shape, which should be even worse next week given Funny's inactivity, will lead to DNPs. Let's hope his manager will be back soon.
- Lüftullah Hasan Can (50494821), trained in Utopia by a french manager, will have to fill in Vasilev's shoes. His limited potential has been dealt with a training plan closely followed by his manager.
- Koryun Petikyan (50494662), trained by MalkiaShef, was already a U21 last season and will be our leader this season. His great game shape on the first week almost gave us the win last monday.

The next generation

The roster isn't that deep and some 20yo players already show nice promises :
- Bekir Galip (51134518), is the second player of MalkiaShef. His well-rounded profile will be much appreciated.
- Bedrettin Mengücek (50814674) and Hristo Sugarev (50814898) are both trained by atanasovvv. Given their fast progression, they could compete for a starting spot pretty soon and will be real dominant players next season.

Second defeat, this time against Portugal.

Once again, and as expected, we faced a normal from our opponent. Thos plus the fact they had better players, game shapes and HCA, I had to try something.
They seem stronger on the inside so I tried a 2-3 + LI gdp, but I was totally wrong. It was smart from them to play motion given we already lost to this tactic last monday even if we played 3-2 + outside gdp with HCA.

The rest of our schedule is horendous... Taiwan, Germany and Slovenia... No micronation... I've never seen such a schedule. I wish you that I got all the bad luck for the next 10 seasons.
And at least we have a good TS... Not sure it will be helpful though.

Even Ireland has an impressive roster, and I don't know yet about Canada.
This schedule is ridiculous, starting next monday in Taiwan.

I was rather looking for a 8-0 record so that we get the HCA during the elimination phase.
But anyways, yes I'll try my best to get as many victories as possible. It's just sad that my experience here ends this way

Little update on our journey in this tournament.

We started with two losses against Latvia, which still upsets me given the preparation, and Portugal, which is still undefeated.

Then we faced Taiwan, with their 78k$ center along with four 40k$ players. I had prepared a lineup but couldn't analyse the game more precisely and update it given I was surprised by the game starting at midday in France... Not much to regret though, given how strong their starting five is. This was then already our third defeat...

After that we had two easy games against Japan and Canada, which had to change coach in the middle of the season given the previous was inactive.

And then we just got two wins against stronger teams.
Last monday against Germany with a successful 3-2 + outside preparation, and today against Ireland which was still undefeated with a successful 2-3 + inside preparation.

Next game will be a decisive one, in Slovenia this time. Either we win and we access to the next round or we lose and we're eliminated. Slovenia is playing to keep the first seed and then get HCA for the rest of the tournament... So I let you guess who the favourite is.
To be honest, I don't think we'll be able to win this one and I don't know if I want to use a crunch time only to get eliminated in the game after...

So that's about it. The season isn't totally screwed yet, even if we faced 6 teams (out of 8) that should be qualified for the next round.

Thanks again to the trainers for their involvment. The players are on good shape and making nice progress through the season. As always, I'll do a recap of the season and of the players' performances.

I wish you all a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year. Cheers
Slam

I had better expectations for your U21 NT so I don't feel like I deserve to stay here.

I think I made good tactical choices overall and the fact that we didn't win anything had more to do with our players not being as strong as the best countries.
But... And there's a big but... It was my duty to improve the players' training and I didn't achieve anything. I contacted a lot of people in the first season in order to convince them to train for the U21 and to help them with a training plan, but I got very few answers, and even fewer results. The seasons after, I honestly just gave up... It takes too much time, which I don't always have for me, and gives too little results.

I'm sure the situation will be better with a bulgarian coach since it will be easier to communicate and do the follow-up, maybe not as much as what mink0ff is achieving with the senior NT, but better than what I did. At least that is what I wish for you all :)

But it was a nice experience and I must say I'm glad you were here to answer many of my posts on the forum :D
