I wonder they have thought about changing that based on the stage of the season, rather than calendar month. It seems kind of odd to be able to jack up ticket prices for the playoffs one season and the next season not being able to until into the season, or have to set ticket prices not knowing which division you will be in.

So one obvious time would be before the start of each new season, and then at the start of interconference play, and then intraconference play.

Yes this gives much more meaning, and integrates much better into the game.
You could define 2 or 3 times where it is possible to change the dates, like:
Start of season.
Midway in season
Start Playoff

I don't really understand the argument against being able to change ticket prices weekly anyway. Clubs in many sports change more for premium games (better opponents or weekend games), and every club charges more for playoff games.

If BB is really against weekly ticket price changes, a good compromise would be to set playoff ticket prices and regular season ticket prices separately.

i would find it curious if you got 2 price one for games after an win, and one for game after a loss ;)

To manage the prices right, makes fun 2 me at the actual situation.

Come to think of it, if you made the finals last season, the games were played on April 29, May 3 and if needed May 4. So if you wanted to charge more for the playoffs, you had to make changes before April 1 during the last weeks of the regular season when demand is completely different. Then,if you wanted to continue to charge playoff prices for the finals (if you were so lucky), you had to maintain high prices and stay with these prices well into next season (for about 10 cup and regular season games). Any reasonable team will change prices between seasons if demand changes (what if you get promoted/relegated?), so the monthly changes just don't make sense.

I strongly recommend a change to deal with these issues. It doesn't have to be weekly changes in ticket prices, but there needs to be a few exceptions to the monthly ticket price policy.

I will repeat once more what is said various times before: there is NO difference between regular games and play-off games for attendance calculations.

The reason why it might LOOK like play-offs bring more people is that high ranked teams play each other.
Should your last regular game be against the No 2 ranked in your conference, and you are at the 3rth place yourself, you will have exactly the same amount of spectators than if it would be the first play-off game.

Therefor setting other prices for play-offs then you would for regular games would not be the brightest thing to do. You either charge to much during play-offs, or not enough during regular games if you go for this system, both situations would not result in optimal revenue... The optimal price for regular games is the exact same as for play-off games.

The reason for BB that the prices are not changeable every week is to prevent teams from setting them higher when they play a higher ranked team, and lower when the play a lower ranked team. If they have it changeable right before the play-offs, this is exactly what they would make possible...
