and as far as I know the match-ups are random, so it is possible to get any kind of team in the first round
(and also in every round following it ofcourse)

Yeah the draw is really random. i've been playing for 3 seasons. My first i was in IV and got a guy from the NBBA, second year i got bots in the first 4 rounds and this year i got 1 bot then a good team.

Its just luck of the draw.
