I think the problem with them might be that they don't really look at individual matchups enough...
so for instance...
if you had for inside scoring
position offsensive skill defender skill
3 5 5
4 2 8
5 8 2
some metrics would say...oh .. the defense was the same as the offense on average in their interior play..so the talent was the same. On the other hand... the 4 would be locked down.. and would get crappy looks and wouldn't take them.. and the 5 would be getting really good looks and taking them.. resulting in a mismatch.
I'm not sure how to display this information in a neat and accessible way... matchups are certainly very important in basketball and this is reflected in the game engine.. but not in the zonal ratings at present.

He had a better coach rating!
Seriously, dunno. You matched up really well, tactics are exactly what you'd want (on paper at least). Looks like a WTF

It's been noted that individual match-ups are important and that you can't simply look to zonal ratings. When scouting teams, is there a way to see where individual players are playing? You can't just look at best position, as they might not be playing in that position.
If individual match-ups are important, allowing for certain match-ups to be exploited, managers need to see some info on opposing teams' player positions.
EDIT - NEVERMIND, just look at the match replay
