I just finished my second season in the game. Do you recommend that I buy that 8 doctor?

Doctors don't help players heal.

Doctors reduce the severity of injuries. If you had had a level 8 doctor at the time of the injuries, both would probably have been for the remainder of the game, with both players available for the next game.


Are you sure?

I wonder if injuries that have already occured and been calculated e.g. with a Level2 Doctor will be recalculated (for the remaining time) if the player meets a Doc10.

I am not sure of it, but I have already twice bought players with 1+ and they were both healed on the first update in my team. This can very well be good luck, but I always estimated that it did help that I had a Doc10 at that time and supposingly the selling teams didn't (lower division teams and anyways, Doc10s are rare...).

A raw injury of 0 to 10 weeks is generated, with the probability of shorter injuries being greater than longer injuries.

These injuries are then adjusted based on the level of the doctor.

For a doctor of level d, raw injuries in the range of [0,10] are mapped to the range [0,5+d/2] then d/2 is subtracted from the injury. If this is negative, the injury is over at the end of the game.

So for doctors of level 0, 4, 8, and 10 you will have the following injuries after the game.

Yes, that was clear to me as well. I was only speculating about the possibility of a positive effect after the initial calculation of the injury (player changes team resp. team changes Doctor). But that has now been clarified as a false assumption.

I don't realy get it.

what does mapping to a range mean?
Howcome for the worst injury possible the doktor level has no effect at all (each level will leave you a 5 week injury based on your table)

Could you clarify all this a little for me, this is important info. And just to make sure, this comes from a BB right??
