I have a 2 ball player who scored quite a few field goals in the game he was scouted. Does that mean he might have some good skills?

Hi,

when one of the player has been scouted twice, there are two more parameters appearing (apart from the age): Grade Rating and Potential.
Grade Rating seems to be pointing the current skills of the player, if I am not wrong. What does give you then Potential? How got can he be (text from the page: "insight into his potential abilities") ?
Which of this parameter is more important to get the best player?

Thx in advance for the answer.

You know I also have PF, he scored 46 points, had 6 rebounds, 11 assists but I can't see his age or potential, so he might has good skills but he also might have low potential and be 19years, so I give my first choice for potential and not for one good performance.

Do you have any experience regarding this topic?
I have some players that have a good potential and Grade Rating, but very bad statistics and the opposite. Actually, I do not know whom should I choose as first ones.
It would nice to hear opinion from the more experienced people.

I am thinking about selling rookies, so the best price in the market is potential, statsitics in one game is very random.

Thanks for advice.

There are many players that were scouted once. What does give a Star Rating without knowing other parameters? When guy has a 5 stars-balls can it indicate that he is a good choice, while having a good statistics?

I got 1 scouting of my 32 players and second scouting from 10 guys. From the 10 guys selected is one SG, A+, 4 stars-balls potential, but unfortunately 19 and has a very bad stats.
So, probably I would select some guys from the first scouting as a first choice.

It's all the luck of the draw, you just have to work with what you have and you can still find plenty of good players if you draft properly. My best players have come from the draft and carry my team.

3 balls --> starter, star, allstar

I listed last year draftees to excel so I would see who I've got. I got a starter and I'm almost sure that he had 4 star potential. Unless he desided to change his position just after I picked him. ;)

I tried to track all good players from draft list compared to my excel, but it's difficult because you just know draftees position and age for sure.

Maybe I should check this again this year...

Like I said statistic is very random, we can't even now in what kind of match he played. Of course 5 stars can indicate good choice, for me everyone lower than 5 star rating goes at the bottom of my list but 5 star rating doesn't indicated that he has higher potential.

Now if you like risking you can choose one scouted 5-star rating rookies as your first choice, but I think that SG is pretty good. I once took SF with same information 5star-grading, A+ 4star potential and he turned out to be very multiskilled.

what is the largest difference that you have seen between a players current rating and their potential? Right now I have a 1 ball, F rating but a 3 ball potential. Does anyone else have or seen say a 1 ball grade with a 4 or 5 ball potential?
