looking for reasons why it is bad as well ...
Hopefully it will eventually lead to better ideas. The current way has big flaws. I already know the bigger and better teams won't like the changes.

Looking for what those "big flaws" are, and why assigning something at random will fix them.

If you would make it random why not remove it?
It doesn't seem realistic either just to make it random. But it could be function of some parameters like how your past games had went...
I like the current system because it brings something to the game to have in mind.

Agreed with removing it, but I am saying the game assigns it ...to where we would never know anyway...JUST LIKE HOME COURT ADVANTAGE ..right? Do we know exactly what home court gives us? Takes away? NOPE!

So why do we know:

"Hey guys..you go play at a level 8 tonight"
"Hey..we are a better team..so let's play at a lower level for 2 months to build up our skill level for the end."
But aren't those major flaws?

If we took it away all together, that eliminates ANY chance for upsets because it would be solely based on player levels and what you run for Offense and Defense. I am not talking all the time here...just talking about the small percentages of games.

It mostly favors the better team ...and the better keeps getting better all the way up to NBBA. An easy response is "just get better"...well yeah ..of course the better teams will say that, and hate change...but why cant there be something that could favor MORE teams?

No, it's not even remotely similar to home court advantage.

First, HCA is not random.

Second, it is fairly well-known that HCA provides a defense and rebounding bonus to the home team.

Hey Mr. Burger Chief Sir...I don't agree it should be random or done away with. But I do think that it should be tied to winning/losing more than anything. Maybe teams should have ratings, if a lower rated team wins, their enthusiasm goes up. If you win a big road game, your enthusiasm goes up.

I know for sure it is not a t all "the same" as your suggestion here.

"Hey players of mine. This is coach. Seeing that we played CT last game and we still lost, we only have the option of level 2 today. But since the other team is better and has been sitting on TIE all year we are up against a level 12 tonight...well we are sure to lose. Zero % chance of winning. Sure...what our players are going to score is fairly unknown, and what they will rebound ...that is unknown too. What i do know is you are strictly at a level 2 tonight..and he is at a level 12. Good luck boys."

da...da....da......wait for it GM K........DUMB!

You dont know exactly this, but you know the exact number of enthusiasm? Seems kind of odd now doesn't it?

I am not saying this way is great..or good..or decent...I am mainly saying the current way needs to go. It is a Republican (ha!) way to do this. The rich get richer. The strong teams dont want change as much as the lower teams do (if you read through the many forum posting on this subject).

This adds in quite nicely to good teams hardly ever dropping down. Aren't teams supposed to have ups and downs. 5-6 years good....then rebuild, etc?

Big teams win...they make more money..they always have better players...they never fall.

I am ALL for that! No doubt. But to make enthusiasm favor them as well? That has got to go.
