Usually in real life, low fouls mean they suck at defense cos they are not playing in your face defense or trying hard enough to make defensive stops. It could be different in BB though =P

Oh you mean like how Lebron doesn't get called for defensive fouls cause he doesn't play D!? So true!

He only gets charging fouls.. sometimes.

I think it is pretty obvious that the developers are changing different things in the game engine - I am not so sure if this is good to be done in a running game...

why is that obvious? couldn't the overall quality of players and their skill distribution have changed, leading to different feeling while not changing anything in the engine?

Why don't you try it? Put a guy on for 10mill, he'll never sell, & post back what happens in the games after he comes off.

Would that happen overnight? I doubt so, if it was like you think, we would see a steady increase in fouls for a longer time, but thats not what happened.

Do we have enough data to confirm those really aren't just random variances?

Totally agree.
But they had to announce it first? Any change, especially in GE, has to be announced.

I'd be interested in you (or Knecht) being able to find, say, 15 examples that prove that something in the GE has changed.
