Even if will take it as you wrote and say that he MUST throw that much, it doesn't explain the fact compared to players "of the elite level" who touches the ball the same has much more assist than he does.

For example Lebron has about 15% more assist, and he plays with Wade who share the ball with him.
Nash is an elite player, and of course he has much more a

Diwght Howard touches the Ball more then J.J. Reddick, but have much less 3 point attempts. What i try to say, maybe Nash is the better passer then Kobe with a better feeling for his teammates, while Kobe can read his defender better and have more tools to beat then. So considering there skills, the optional move of those player for the team is different.

And sicne ego meanss that he play weaker, and Kobe is your example for it i don't think he plays with less effort against then as long the game is not decided. And when he plays with weak teammates, against a strong team(which is weaken then his) he also take his serious like nearly all pros. Yes he would take more shot, but that is already included in the GE.

Edit: probadly we should get back to the suggestion, and not about Kobe or other players.

You're basing your claims on absolutely zero empirical evidence. Get the empirical evidence, have it work for you, then you can win this one.

A lesser passer pass badly. Like Howard will shoot badly.
AKA - Not knowing how to pass means higher turnovers rate much more than lower AST numbers.

A player that does not pass an shoots is the definition of an egoistic player.

And it is not that the percentage of Kobe are higher than all of his teammates, or compared to Nash. And that is w/o checking the numbers.

When you play with much weaker offensive teammate you will not pass that much.

When the team you are playing against is much weaker, you will not play just as hard.

How about creating a thread where we can discuss who is the PG in Lakers. If not staying on topic seems the right thing to do.

Eaxctly. And this brings me back to (223332.2).

I'm hearin' ya!

Allen Iverson for the Sixers was a good example of "team play" that seems like ball hogging to the uneducated. That was his role and everyone had that understanding.

Quite. Luol Deng is a ballhog for Team GB (and takes too many shots but that's by the by). Can you think of a less selfish allstar-level forward?

Back to the original idea, I don't think it's skills-related/ego, it's arrogance related as a hidden trait. GE effect would be forcing shots/passes depending on role played.
