Also, one thing I liked about the approach that I mentioned is that it made the world ranking more accurate. The current world ranking is seriously flawed... And of course one of the flaws to it is that most teams do not play in any international competitions that can have a meaningful impact on their world rankings. Scrimmages may have some very small impact but other than that, unless you play in the B3, all it does is give some indication of how you stack up within your country (and even then, it does a pretty poor job, as promoting teams get the biggest advantage).

My other beef with the current world ranking is the following: in its current format, it is not relevant (by that, I mean not up-to-date). That's because the ranking relies too much on past data. So you can see weird results where an 0-22 team that exited the cup in the first round has the #8 ranking in a country.

The actual problem of B3 it's the fact that there are still a lot of uncompetitive teams in the competition,I don't think that adding a lot of teams in the competition will improve it...

I think that could easily be changed by having teams qualify based on world ranking. And then having a world ranking that is indeed a world ranking. What I mean by that is, one that is more influenced by international competition rather than domestic.

I think that could be easily do a first round among the worst teams qualified in BB to eliminate the less competitive teams in the teams and then start the final phase with the best 64 teams in the competition

isnt PL great way how to be part of a world competition? as a big team manager i would love to compete with just the best worlds teams becose it is not fun at all to win 70 games in a row, trust me.. As we have salary caps we (big teams) are above to stagnate so other teams are stepping up. i dont see big problem in this. this game allows to compete worldwide in PLs.

That's a gross exagerration of the proposals out there, to say the least. First, there are only 14 weeks in a season. Also, since you are one of the top teams in the world you would play in the top tournament. Perhaps the first 7 weeks would be easy, but I do not see how that is different for you than in the current format. ;-)

PL means nothing. There is nothing on the line and it has no impact on rankings. It is also available only to supporters.

As PaperPusher said, I point out also that some of you are supporting B3 to be in such format that you won't qualify for it but with the more worldwide participants that both me and him and others also suggesting you would be part of it. If PL is made for worldwide competition, then it makes no difference World Cup would all be just friendly matches that everyone try hard to win and not bring in the water boy, it's just as intriguing

Maybe, I don't really know. But whatever format the B3 takes, it will always be a grey poupon tournament. It leaves 99.9% of the teams in the world out of any meaningful international competition. Which makes it tough to say this is an international game.

sorry i just dont see the point why there should be 16k or 8k teams in competition. how many of those are willing to participate? in my country it would make about 130 participants (33% out of 400 managers) and about 50 walkovers in reality.. this wont be fun at all and i dont even say what would be the impact on servers to have extra 8k games in one day (or week?). maybe i havent read whole your suggestion and dont see the point..

If only when we started we would've had worldwide international tournament instead of national tournament, then someone at this point would propose national tournaments. The only responses i can imagine in that case "I won't play bot", "even more walkovers", "competing with scrub teams", "money problems", "boring just within your countries (to some at least)", "crappy luck i rank 1 play against rank 2 while bot plays a bot". It would sound worse if it was the other way back in the day and someone now proposed national tournaments, that much i can fairly gurantee.

Nah its cool i wrote too much so i assume most skimmed. But like PaperPusher said B3 is grey poupon tournament, the rest of us are the dijon mustard, like the one when Crank Dat Soulja Boy Super Dat Ho with Dijon Mustard instead with... you get the idea (When a male master****s on a blanket and sticks it on a female's back, creating a cape like superman - Urban Dictionary), we are all giant group of creators of dijon mustard stain to hold a cape while others are the grey poupon. Grey Poupons are commonly found in Dijon Mustard in case of you wondering why i brought up dijon mustard and grey poupon is reference to something PaperPusher said earlier.

I see half of this B3 thread expressing desire to expand more teams to participate and how very good teams rank as high as top 20 don't participate... I think its fair to assume most would find it intriguing if they can participate in worldwide competition.
