Since Joey (better known as Josef) Ka said that potential had sublevels there is no reason to ask BBs...

I guess I shouldn't write this here since BBs never write in the Help forum

Let's clear this up once and for all:
1. staff levels don't have sublevels
2. potential levels DO have sublevels

If you guys have a straightforward question like this that is basis for a long debate, feel free to BB-mail me and you'll get your answer. I do apologize for not reading the Help forum consistently, but I'm just one guy and I'd rather spend my time coding than reading the forums, so I hope you understand.

One note though; some things aren't supposed to be known. In this case, that's not the case, but I just wanted to emphasize that.

I found this thread quite interesting, because it throws a spanner in the works of the BB Potnetial stats formula's etc
There are a few assumptions made about potential and its sub-levels though. And ill use the Josef Ka formula's, in particular the potential cap ratio list.
Caps:
0 announcer: 10
1 bench-warmer: 10 - 12
2 role player: 12 - 14
3 6th man: 14 - 16
4 starter: 16 - 18
5 star: 18 - 20
6 allstar: 20 - 22
7 perennial allstar: 22 - 24
8 superstar: 24 - 26
9 MVP: 26 - 28
10 hall of famer: 28 - 30
11 all-time great: 30


And now lets introduce sub-levels for potential. Using Headless T Gunners example, ive got a PG with Superstar potential. He has hit a soft cap and he did so when his training potential ratio score hit 24 (or thereabouts on the assumption of a few stats sub-levels).
Does this mean, that.... his 'Potential sub-level' is ..... what? 8.0? Or is it 8.5? How do we apply this new concept of 'Potential sub-levels, to the above table?

use my guy as an example, if his potential was 8.5 then he hit the soft cap at 24... but if his potential was 8.0, then this would hit the soft cap at ... what? 23.5? That would be congruent with the Per-allstar example that HTGunner posed, where the guy has a stats ratio score of 25.53 (suggesting that his potential is a 7.9)

So in summary - im proposing a general theory, that the 'potential sub-levels' can be applied to approximately half-way above the current potential score for the 'hard cap' and half way below for the 'soft-cap'.

ie: Per-allstar could be now 21.0 through to 25. Superstar could be 23 through to 27.
(also im proposing that the rebounding ratio applied to PG's is wrong! LOL)

Whilst im brain-dumping, hows about a second theory - that the above Stats ratio score's are not linear. They assume linearity in the application of the scores... maybe once a guy hit's his soft cap, the application of the score is not as linear as it is now applied?
