Ive got Bell Park SuperCats. But i also had the newly botted SLam ! as my league game, so was able to conserve starter minutes and enthusiasm.

Ironically, BPSC's also had a near-bot team. I haven't checked yet, but if he also conserved starters minutes and such, its going to be a good and proper Div II vs Div II starting lineups Round 3 cup game.

Match of the round I say! If i could sell tickets I would.

Well, Koop was just too strong, unfortunately. In better news, I get an idea of where my team is at, and how much further to go to compete at that top level.

In terms of the game, Koop - how did you GDP the heck out of me?? I was planning to LI you earlier in the week (an offence I haven't used all season), until I scouted my previous league opponent and saw that LI was the obvious choice against him - which frankly, I thought left me even more unpredictable. I figured if I went PTB against Henley Beach Hawks as I originally planned, that would make me more predictably setting up LI against you.

I think I'm just annoyed at myself, because based on my team and the matchup I think it was a sub-optimal offence for me to choose anyway, and yet still got GDP'ed. Ouch :S

hahah its a totally annoying game if you let it get to you. Best thing is just to learn what happened and move on.

In terms of GDP, some say that I have the all powerful GM button, but I figured you would LI since you had Cattic at SF. He was the one who would make or break my team.

I'm totally tanking the ABBL so I had my full lineup for the Cup game.

You had the home court, but I had the enthusiasm advantage since I have tied nearly every game so far, You have better forwards were as I had better guards. It looked like a fairly even contest but somehow Smelts displayed some vintage form.

Actually, no enthusiasm advantage. I have TIE'd every single game this season, today my first Normal.

Catic at SF is my best and most balanced lineup, but if anything he's more of a SG than a PF. Plays outside better than inside.

I was kinda hoping since you had 3 PG's and 2 C's that there'd be a mismatch inside somewhere, alas not to be. Oh well, live and learn.

Got any other pointers from the game? Good luck for the rest of the cup, at least now I can focus on league and save scrimmage for training/weekly minute management.

There are four bots left in the tournament and Whitebeard gets one and Goldfish get another. Not fair on those struggling division III teams that could do with a handout.

Haven't gone this far in the cup since Season 21, surprisingly enough. I have a bad feeling though that my next opponent (another Division III team) is going to CT me and once again knock me out of the cup early. I suppose all the early exits are my fault as well, since I've never saved my top players for the cup game in the past.

However, I have a chance to do just that this week when I play a tanking team (freebird, having failed to promote last season) on Tuesday, so this season may yet be the season I finally make it to round five or better...

2 went down in rd 3

6 all up which means 10 left. Seems like one of the worst performances for the ABBL in the cup for quite a few seasons. May be because the league is really tough this season. Still, it makes it really interesting, especially for lower league teams.

the winner will still come from ABBL, always does. Us lower leagues just cant compete with them once the finals start and starters start playing cup games.
