This is very true. Hece there is no best SF build imo. It would be ideal to have a few different builds to use in different offence or to counter other players. For me OD/ID and passing are vital to have an effective team in being able to play various offences. Also driving is often overlooked.

Our current roster has options on how the team can play. Being able to mix it up if important in regrds to GDP. I would like our bigs to have some more outside shotting and our SF to have more rebounding.

The difficult thing for someone from OS is a lack of knowledge of our current roster and developing players. The developing players are a more long term thing that it is the players at 22 or 23 which are able to be altered to meet needs and a long term plan for them ensures the side in strong long after the current term.

Having as you know running the 21 NT here for 4 seasons and then the Nippon side for 2 has given me an understanding of how to play NT games. The 2 sides are at different levels. Was able to use some very interesting builds for Nippon to win vs much stronger teams.

Teams need to be able to win with different game plans. Even mixing it up vs weaker sides will not trick the strong sides as its the vital games people tend to go to their bread and butter. If the side has one strong winning offence GDP will be your downfall. For me its one of if not the most important tool in a managers box.

Also driving is often overlooked.

I agree. Driving on Forwards is extremely important and
unless you are a beast in everything else than you should have decent drive to make this team.

To my opponent or opponents, (if other people are running because I don't know if other people are) what offenses do you think are the most efficient? I will answer after.

1on1 does train driving quicker then handling. And often players start with higher driving.
The question was a build if you can spend points however you like.


As for offence. There is on obvious offence atm. The game has altered to make it not so dominate and is heading towards that. As for which ones are effective it all comes down to what players you have in the team. No use trying motion unless you decent passing on every player. No use doing RnG unless you have very good shotters in most positions. Can go on.

Some of them just plan suck.

It's plain to me who I'd like to run the NT. Someone who is familiar with the up and coming NT players and has had previous contact with the managers should make everything run smoother. Not to say that I'm doubting rusty's ability as a manager. Anyone who has made it to the top league in their country demands a certain respect.

I'd like to ask a question to both of you and it doesn't involve SF's.
The Australian user base has died down over the last few seasons and we no longer have an active Div IV, which means there will be fewer high potential draftees and therefore less potential NT players. What plans do you have in place to make the most of the limited potential NT players?

Well this is a big issue. When I started there were lots of teams in Div IV. And the lower pool of players is a issue. Thankfully most the experince managers understand this and try and buy any good potential players.
When I ran the 21NT I would at the end of the season send the NT manager a list of players in the squad who had the potential to make the NT to add to there list for players to follow. The NT manager should always keep an eye on those players as they are limited. I would hope with my experiance working with whitewind while he was my assitant during this time will help this process along.

It is pleasing to see more of our NT team are now based in Australia. Scoggins for one is the sort of player who can become a rental and never be in good game shape. Thankfully whitewind got hold of him and he has be a major part in him winning Div II and then ABBL in his first season. Going back to Whitebeard's time there has been a push for the importance of our good players being run by our good managers. I would hope that I could play a part in making this happen effectively.

We do not have the players we can just afford to waste. Even keeping an eye on teams who have them to make sure they do not go bot is an important part fo the 21NT and also the NT if over 21. But thankfully a decent 22 year old should not disappear. Even this morning in an other thread someone suggested some teams in their league might go bot and ww asked if there was anyone that would be worth saving. I had a few mins so went and had a quick look and checked there were none.

2 of my top 10 players have handling higher then driving. And 2 have the same.
1 of the two higher is old and lost driving a bit.
Those who have driving higher seem to be from 1 to 4 higher.
It's not always but rather common for handling to be a bit lower.

Also just looked at the 11 SF being tracked in NT federation 7 of them have higher driving then handling.
I think very few people train handling and allow the effect of other training to raise it.

Dire's influence paved the way for me. But I saw a major problem with the team at that time with poor gameshape management by bad managers who were good trainers. No matter how well trained, they would forever remain useless in poor gameshape even ignoring my pleas. I would never bring them into the team unless in desperate times. So I decided to take matters into my own hand and have national players myself and also letting other managers know the benefits of merchandise.

Now I see more and more teams run pure Aussie or have Aussies as their best few players and I hope this culture continues especially with our largest roadblock, the Chinese national team, who have continuously manufacture top quality national players with their superior numbers over the years. :)
