"Buy now" is grossly unfair to people who have a life and cannot be on here 20 hours a day to scour for cheap players to buy now.

With 3,4,5 day selling periods, people have more of a shot of getting the player they want.

Of course, the ending bid time still looms large, because you could be at work, traveling, sleeping, doing something other than hovering over a keyboard on a fictional game with bid wars that keep going and going and going every 3 minutes.

Hence the autobid was proposed: you don't have to be there when the auction ends, you don't necessarily have to overpay, nothing else changes except a bot does the work for those who placed an autobid. It was even proposed with all sorts of limitations like maximum 1 active autobid per team etc, but it just wasn't popular because there were too many traders like Evaristo who thrived from bidding at the deadline and getting players cheaper than their actual value. People who have time to play the inefficiencies in the TL will never willingly accept something like this. What is funny, and a bit sad, is that the same people now seem to be complaining about others bidding at the deadline and ruining their experience while exploiting the system.

I wouldn't really like to see it go as quickly as a minute but one and a half minutes seems long enough. Otherwise I like your suggestion.

I see the points you guys are making. I guess I’m a perfect world everyone would put the exact price that they want for their players. Everyone’s suggested selling price would be normalized because of it. There would not necessarily be any “deals” to be had, since everyone would be at the price that the seller wants. There would be less flux in the “suggested” prices because everyone would list the highest price that they would take, and the smart ones would put the highest price that they think they could actually get. There wouldn’t be a steal to be had or a time of the day that you need to be up or online. I can see an argument for both sides. The guys who want the “steals and deals” will never want an autobid and the guys who hate to spend hours and hours here would want it. Maybe a compromise like the player will be listed for 3 days, and after 3 days the highest “secret” bid wins the player, when the clock reaches 0. There is still a chance someone wins with an underbid, and it gives 3 days for the player to be found and bid on by anyone interested. No extended battles or wars, just throw your best offer if you want him and see what happens.

I tend to agree with this notion of thinking ok . But at the end of the day the Gm has the final say.

There might be 19 hof on the market and a bid war occur for him. It is closely watched if. He goes for 3 million final bid.* This just an example* . the Gm will see that as a red flag. The thing is that player just might be worth 3 mill but if Gm say its a no go. We can not argue that. All we can do is bid at last minutes in a fair way. Going from 275k to 1.3 million is going to attract attention even if the player is worth the honest bid price in 5 season timen

As rude as it sounds which is not my intentions You have to not get involved in getting the Gm into the matter in opinion . Because he is not going see our. Emotional intentions as a manager only the rules.

Of course auto bid and buy now would help matters. I'm not disputing that at all. My point. Be safe and. Aware. This is a competitive game and you never know how some else feels about going from 225k to 1.7 million in bid. That a fine/penalty from the Gm every time. How do you explain putting up over a mill in bid ? What do you think is the right thing to do ? To me bid at last minute, I'm not saying crazy amounts but 5-15k more. Which is fair.

I’m not in disagreement at all. You are right. The GMs ultimately decide what is fair and what isn’t. I was just trying to throw out some options where bid wars would become a thing of the past. The other stuff were just random thoughts I have had and what I’ve seen.
