now we're talking
lining up opinions leads to validation and setting in stone I like this! consensus gives me confidence to go through with certain moves

so OD and IS! cheers! I knew there had to be a different importance assigned to skills (also glad to see the reasoning behind it,which kind of makes sense so I'll use that when taking other elements in consideration). But yes, now things are starting to come together nicely. I am liking it cheers once again

I disagree about training.
I don’t see any roi for most people. Better to use training with basic trainer team training

now I am worried :)

How useless are those trainers?!?!

I believe he means they are useless to make money. Training generally costs money; even though you can sell your trained players for some good money (if you train properly), it doesn't outweigh the cost (besides salary of your trainer and facilities, also the worse game performance).

ahhh, if that's the case then that's fine. I never expected trainers to be an element in the money making equation
I thought that he meant that it doesn't affect training that much

Each level gets diminishing returns, so that's why Advanced trainers give you good value for money.

OK, so basically the game is in the same state as most of other online managerial games are in (very few actually survived that kind of outcome - I can only think of 2 that kind of dodged that bullet and only one is what I am certain of)

Can't really say that I am surprised, even though I wish the reality would have been different. I guess that's the curse of "marathon" (to quote one user from this thread) games that open up the wrong doors (most of the times is the perverse incentive brought by National Teams "needing" to be competitive and the slow pace of players development, a reality that already slapped me hard before I even got to pick up my shield). However, farm teams (more of a solution for speeding up the game I guess...not that I agree with) I can sort of bear with...for as long as I don't see and look beyond my own team and interests. It's the financial illicit gains that bother me the most and kind of kill the appeal of a game for me (which kind of also makes sense why finances are being brought up as an important element of the game and constantly get highlighted as the main focus).

I don't plan on cheating so I am not sure I need to know or figure out the tactics of going around the system and neither do I plan on watching paint dry for 6months before I can do anything in the game, so now that I know what to look for, I'll see how bad it is and decide on whether to give it a go or not.

But cheers for the answer. It pretty much told me what I needed to know

Again, using his own words:
most people give advice cuz they want to not cuz they can or should

:)

In my country I don't know a manager doing stuff described above. But I know several managers who do not want to compete but want to train players. Because it's more fun for them then competing.

I don't say BB is Paradise on Earth with honest users only. But the state described by WolphWolph is purely dystopic and I don't agree with that.
