The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

Probably not often that James Oliver Rigney is quoted on buzzerbeater My partial quote was in reference to Isaac Asimov's most favorite short story, the Last Question, which is especially relevant.

You are the man to even know his given name. Yes I am in the process of cranking out 12 again in preps for release of 13 in a couple weeks.

hehe. Well, to be fair I never finished his series. I read a lot of fantasy books when I was younger. The only reading I have now is unfortunately exam material, which is why I'm up at this hour.

We observe time as linear, but it exists because of matter. Time did not exist before matter. If God did create the universe, then this question has no meaning. There is no beginning or end when discussing something that is eternal, or existed before matter and time. So the answer is... "insufficient data for meaningful answer" :)

I think therefore I am :P

Well, thats getting more philosophy than sci-fi. Less mmm hmm and more pew pew! lol...

Edit: btw, anyone wondering how this discussion is still on topic... An understanding of eternity is needed to fully grasp the effects of PR managers. The easiest way to explain this connection, is 42.

Fact number 1: My birthday is on the 10th of October.
Fact number 2: 10 days ago it was my 21st birthday.
Fact number 3: 10 days ago the date was 10/10/10.
Fact number 4: 10/10/10 in binary is 42.
Fact number 5: 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.

Therefore, my birthday was the answer to life.
And seeing as alcohol was the key criteria for my birthday.
Alcohol is the key criteria to life.
Therefore alcohol is god.

Case closed :)
