That's true but I guess I remember him always running up and down the court in Phoenix's fast break offense, not backing people down. His great ball handling is what enabled him to score in such a variety of ways. He was so good he even played point forward quite often.

Charles could fill the lane and run on the fast break for sure...but actually, when he was in Phoenix, we were very much a half court team. KJ would break down defenses with penetration or kicking the ball into Charles...He would then use his big butt, and very patiently back down his defender...He would do that long enough that either he would feel the defender lose his position or balance, and he would attack, or until a double team would come and then he would find Ainge or Marjerle up top for 3. Charles was a versatile scorer, but his ability to back down a legit sized PF, when he was just 6 ft 4 (generously) is really quite amazing.

the classic tactics (LP, LI) are about where but new tacs (iso) are about whom.
when we play e.g. LP players try to shot as inside as they can.
but when use iso players leave the player who has the ball alone with his def to use his def weak point and play a shot or drive.
but there is sth important, we are not alone at offense, there are 5 defenders there in the court who have effects!
I saw a game that one team had played LP, their guards made over 50% of whole scores. why? because the inside players of the other team were good enough to defend their peers but the perimeters not.
why we have outside tries when we play inside? it's clear, when we get in trouble at inside we cho0se to pass out to open up the play wich called "inside-out" in pro basketball, so we may have an open shot and it's why we may have superior % of perimeters made shots when we play inside.
so why we have a huge number of outside shots while we play inside iso in compare with LP? it's obvious! when we iso an inside player where are we? clearly outside! so we have more outside chance because 4 men are out and probably open!
