Summarizing;
Kirilenko gets much less in CSKA comparing ot his contract in Utah Jazz, why is that?
Worse division / BB-nation, worse salary.


This is indeed a false statement.

Kirilenko signed with CSKA when there was a lockout in NBA. His earnings in NBA would have been $0. Thats right, he wasn't even going to be paid by Utah and he was out of contract. So at that point, playing overseas at CSKA seemed like hell of a better option that making $0. In fact, many NBA players went this route such as JR Smith, Wilson Chandler, etc.
I'm not sure if you are wrong on purpose or not, but this is just not "true" (using very gentle language).

Kirilenko had a contract, like many BB players until the strike ends.
He decided when the strike ended to stay in CSKA.

And as already written, he is far from being the only example.

First of all, talking about beeing wrong: there was no strike. A lockout is pretty much the oppositve of a strike. 2nd - if I´m not completely wrong - Kirilenko was NOT under contract when signing with CSKA, as he was a Free Agent. No lockout in the world can EXTEND existing (and expiring) contracts. Kirilenko became a FA as of July. No more contractual connections with the NBA afterwards.

In addition, you forgot to target the point about the incentives AND we´re not talking about a player in his prime or on top of his skills. Kirilenko is far from beeing a star in the NBA, he has become a mere roleplayer (overpaid, that he was).

Show me a Kobe getting his BB salary of 250+ k who -could- make 300k in the NBA but decides to go for 125k somewhere else (far away, outside his own country / club). This is just not the case.

And if he´s far from beeing the only example, where are the others?

You have a strange way to look at thing that is for sure.

Me and all of the (real) BB-players around the world.

Kirilenko? Is he insane? Why does he get so less in CSKA compared to what he got in the Utah Jazz?

Kirilenko here and Kirilenlo there. Is that actually your only example. If so it is proven VOID.
Already brought enough other examples.
Again, do you realy believe that someone will buy that a player that will go to a lower league (because it is much easier when you are much better) will be paid the same?
Do you really believe that when a veteran on any field will take a freshman job he will be paid like a veteran?

And need i remind you (yet again) that this is not the real world nor the NBA but a GAME.
I guess there are some that are needed to reminded that this is not an eBay-game, but an BB-managing game.
Do you think that saying that "this is just a game" means - "They should make it a simple game for me (AKA you)".
A game purpose is to represent the world it was designed for as good as it can.
Let's make a Car-Game without the stick. And without the wheel. "Do I need to remind you that this is just a game?"

He signed a 3 year deal with CSKA. Sure it had an outclause but you are making a big assumption here that players value $$ above everything else. This is not always the case in real life.

Whats to say Kirlineko don't decide to get out next season? Signing the original contract was the best move for him rather than making $0 in NBA. Just because the NBA is back in effect now does not mean he will just drop everything and head back to the NBA.

In real life there are just too many factors apart from money that can determine what a player decide to do. YOU are NOT Kirilenko so stop saying what he would and would not do

Now if this get's implemented, I will save up all my money and relegate to the last division, then buy a team of 200k players and then forfeit in the playoff finals and win the cup and B3 every season!!!!

THIS IDEA IS BRILLIANT!!! SOON EVERY LOWER DIV TEAM WOULD BE ABLE TO WIN THE CUP AND B3!!!!

A team in a lower division earns much less (Here of course the realism is OK, by all the higher division's teams users. Interesting...).
You will not be able to have those top players for long.

Basically you only made my point stronger, as you prove that there is connection between division and salary/income.

1) This thread is about "higher divisions => higher salaries".
Meaning - this thread deals with inner nation salaries.

So, is this the only mechanism (reducing salaries for players in lower league level) you are proposing? And the rationale is that a div-1 player earns more than a div-2 player in real life, which should be replicated in BB? If this is the case, I think we can close the thread.

Next time, put such a simple suggestion in the thread for minor suggestions.

We can go on with other players, but it is enough.


he signed the contract in CSKA since he doubt that the NBA season starts ;) And CSKA payed him a big time check, so that the security and longer period at least bring him close to the check he would have get when he predicted the NBA to start right.
Without the lockout there wouldn't be a Kririlenko in Moskau since he would go for a biggerr contract, you will probadly say now you see he get less money when he sign a lower club BUT you forget if the other bidder would still exist and Moskau would try to get him they would payed him more like in the Childress case since the playing level of Moskau isn't that attractive to him.

So the NBA lockout was a crash for the player market, since money went out of the system, and fewer teams where in the rumble for the same amount of players.
