We cut the injury times in half in a one time manner... we also adjusted the overall distribution of injuries in two ways... generally we made the a function of the doctor and made them less severe. So injuries that last 1/2 a season are a lot less frequent.

After 2 days of general slowness (not talking about servers...), we finally arrived to the beginning... what Newton07 said was right.

I had a player who was +3 at 2008/3/13.After the reduction, he changed to +1. Now one week has already passed,he is still at +1...

Which makes sense because 3/2 = 1.5, so it should take him approximately 10 days to heal completely.

Thanks, but not quite. I though the doctor would reduce the injury probability (like physiotherapist in HT) and speed up the healing (like doctors in HT). Here it works differently, although the final effect is similar.

Could a LA modify what is written is the rules?
Doctors help prevent player injuries, and help injured players recover more quickly.

This sentence is quite misleading. Many users are hiring a doctor after the injury has occurred and then complain because the player doesn't heal faster... and I think that reading the sentence above we can not blame them :)

we added in doctors skill into the formula which determines how severe the injury is (including the chance that the injury doesn't translate into an injury which lasts longer than the game).
This is equivalent to keeping the length of the injuries the same and speeding the healing process proportional to the doctors skill.

Forrest, as you understand, with this implementation there is no way for a simple user to evaluate the impact of the doctor.
This makes it difficult to decide which level is appropriate for a certain rooster.

Do you think you can provide us with a rough estimation, like:
-doctor level 5 reduces the gravity of the injury by 10%
-doctor level 10 by 15%

great point newton...

I think there is a fundamental problem... on one hand I think its confusing to users when you report a number of how long its going to take for something and it doesn't take that long. (the arena building process is an example of this).

on the other hand, what you say is true, and so you want to give the users some feedback that their doctor is working. Now they should be able to get that in some sense because if they have a crappy doctor they should get more and larger injuries than they would otherwise.

maybe the fist concern isn't so much of a problem as long as it acts in the users interest. (though they might get pissed if they sold someone who was injured supposedly for the playoffs in order to pick up a useful player and that injured player ends up coming back sooner .. and in the worst case contributing to the user getting beaten in the finals).

Also, if you don't plan for doctors to affect recovery speed (i.e. shorten), then remove it from being mentioned in the rules. It is a mis-leading statement, IMO.
