Brar is my second, I had a Turkey trainee called Zeki Tug. He did not get much time, but was trained by me and made the side.

So Brar is your first Australian Under 21 representative player?

Just so all know we are lucky to have our games for Asian Championship to all be in Australia so games for the next 6 weeks are Monday nights @6pm AEST. Be great to have all in chat during the game. Some lines from those who trained the players during the game would be great to include in the match report.

So we have 3 pools of 7 where each team plays 6 games.

Assumably the top 4 of each of the 3 pools goes through to the next round.

Do the final 12 teams then play a number of games each or is it a seeded knockout format for those teams which make the second round?

What do we need to achieve to make the World Championships next season?

Edit

Just done some research on how it was run in season 22, it appears that the top 12 teams (top 4 of 3 pools) then get split up into another 2 pools of 6.
The teams then play all the other teams in that pool to decide on the best 2 teams in each pool

The top team in one pool then plays the second place team in the other pool and vice a versa.

How many teams go through to the World Championships the following season?

How far are we realistically expected to go?

2 teams. 1st and 2nd place in each part of the world.

The winner and runner up goes through to the world cup. The losing semi finalists and the 3rd place teams in the final groups enter the repacharge next season for a chance to qualify for the world cup that way.

Realistically? I don't think the team is of the required standard for automatic qualification through to the world cup this season sadly, though that would be nice. The minimum aim would probably be to finish top 6, so that we can enter the repacharge and have a crack at making the world cup that way next season with what looks like it will be a stronger team.

I think that is a fair goal. IF we can make it to the WC with next season team would be ok. But getting this seasons team to make it will be a challenge. Hoping the boys can lift to make it.

I am finding myself agreing with mllama a lot at the moment and it is starting to scare me. Top two i Asia? This team? No way. But with very careful enthusiasm management, training and strategy maybe we can squeeze into fourth sopt and then next season the 20s who are much much stronger can have their shot in the repacharge.

We also need to have a discussion on the offsite forum abot the training advice we want to give the 20s. I have been pushing the guards in certain ways and we need to make sure the bigs mesh well with them. No spoilers here though guys.

Ive started a seperate thread where by we can determine how many Aussie Under 21 players each Manager has had

(244704.1)

I initially went to put the topic it in this thread but I thought it would clog this thread up and by giving the topic its own thread I can regularly update my first post, thus making the "tally" easier to find for all.

If any Manager has had past Aussie Under 21 players, please feel free to post the details on thread (244704.1)

Criteria is explained in the first post

I am happy to make changes to Sapwell's training program if there is a particular path you want the 20yr bigs to go down. Hit me up through bb-mail or on the calamari fed, yoda
