Congrats on the title, Joe. Very very well-deserved.
What an incredible and exciting final it was. The pre-game decisions are worth a comment. On the one hand, I hadn't played inside in a big game for months, and Joe interpreted it as if I was keeping my inside attack for the B3 final and he put the inside GDP (this is for me a top-class move). On the other hand, I wanted to take advantage of the fact that I barely use GDPS and that he played Motion in the SF and won a close game, so I chose the inside GDP as well. Perhaps Joe thought I was ahead but for me, the game was 50-50%, even 49%-51% because in a scenario of the same attacks he could well beat me if he had no foul trouble. So I had to make a move and at least use inside GDP in case he didn't use any. Well, we both played outside and cancel each other's tactical choices. I laughed a lot when I saw what we both had done
Well, the game was incredibly close but the (very very slightly) best team won.
To be honest, it was a bit of a cruel loss for me (I had several 3p chances to go to OT), especially after what happened 2 seasons ago (lost with BB after injury) and last season (injury in the key moment). Also, I lost the BBM final but this one was almost impossible. Anyway, as the days go by, I'm starting to feel really happy about what I've achieved with my Utopian team these seasons and all the joy this has brought me. However, I'm not entirely happy with the team I built as I struggled to find the inside players I wanted, and this made me weaker than I wished. My team (currently on sale) does not fully satisfy me and I find it a little bit old-fashioned. BB has evolved SO MUCH in the last few seasons in terms of training, game engine, roster depth... that I did not have the time and the knowledge to adapt my team to the new environment.
I've got my bag full of lessons that I will try and put into practice with my first team in the next seasons. Folakers will come back stronger, I promise! Thanks, everyone for the support and nice words! Viva BB!
