It wasn't for the benefit of the Machines. It was an insurance card to make sure I got the number 1 pick. Talking to TUG, we both have the same guy listed at one. So it potentially could have mattered.

Also, I did TIE the walkover and increased my enthusiasm for the PL. The only real negative for me was missing out on training for a single player.

If you noticed my season, I took 3 huge injuries and there was no way I could recover. Without the injuries, I'm fighting for 5th-6th this season. Nothing I can do about that. So where did I treat my team poorly? I completely dumped games down the stretch to pass TUG in point differential, but at that point there was no way to avoid 8th.

Those look like some pretty shoddy sales prices. I'm drowning in debt over here trying to get a decent return on a player.

I noticed your season - it wasn't hard t miss. You CT'd your first game so you put yourself behind the 8 ball early. We have all been there and had to figure out a way to get it done. My team hasn't gotten it done and that is why I am still in this division. No excuses, just the other teams managed better than I in the last 2 games of the season.

You acknowledged before the season started you were going to lose a lot so you are accurate and you did it on purpose so..
It's all good, you and your fans who 5 ball your courageous efforts should be applauded.

I'm really missing something here in this discussion. Don't all of us have bad breaks—injuries in the first 3 minutes of a game, or that last-second buzzerbeater that breaks our heart, or all sorts of other things that happen to us? I thought that what makes a team remarkable—or unremarkable for that matter— is how it tries to deal with adversity. Seems like we all know how you tried, right?

Thank you for saying what I was losing in the translation. I guess my question should of been - why did you not try in your last game? I just would not of expected that from a guy who CT'd his first game in the division.

My apologies

I speak to Jelme offsite, and basically it comes down to he wanted to 100% ensure he got the #1 pick. He'd been planning to WO the game since he got eliminated from 7th place, about 2.5 weeks before the end of the season. I don't know whether the name of the team he was giving a WO to played any part in his decision, but my impression from IMing to him was that it didn't.

That said, I think it'd be delicious irony if the WO tiebreaker rules were such that Jelme winds up with the 2nd pick.

I know everyone gets their share of adversity. New York Jests for instance had a ton of injuries early on and had to fight through it. The difference is, my team from the start was at best a 5th place team. That's with every good break going my way. The first part of the season played out the way I thought it would. The CT first game worked just as I thought, and I still managed two more wins in conference play which put me exactly where I wanted to be. I tried to sell off one of my injured players and I couldn't get as much out of him as I would have liked. A 4 week injury does that though. Still reeling, I wasn't able to get any of the winnable games against the Great 8 to go my way and the C I tried to hire as a stop gap didn't work AT ALL because of the fouling problem that I couldn't see from his stats before I bought him. After losing to Slip N Slide to start conference play, I knew avoiding 8th was impossible at that point. So what should I have done? No point in TIE'ing and saving up enthusiasm for one win against a team of my random picking. The only goal still there was the number 1 pick.

I would be VERY ironic if I got the 2nd pick from the WO tiebreaker. It really should be that way anyhow.

And no reason to bring U21 into this at all. That is a completely different scenario.

Well said, Jelme. I think that it would be best at this point to wrap this thing up and for all of us to forget about it...

+1

But only if darykjozef was given a heads up and able to plan his training around the WO. Anything short of that is classless.

As you may of seen other people say, I have enough problems trying to promote without someone helping out the other team.

I was with you until you said this. Now I've decided you're just being silly.

The only way you're not promoting is if you play a WO game 2 and POCT it to give me a chance at stealing game 3 at your place.
