I think it would be fun if there's a chatbox in live games.

I think a chat could be very beneficial for newer players to get to ask questions and even for the more experienced players to discuss tactics and try and figure out how this game works. From games i have played in the past they have used NetGamers http://www.netgamers.org/. On Netgamers you can register a nick and a room such as #Buzzerbeater, they provide you with a bot who only gives Ops to those the founders have given permission to so the room itself can be very secure even if non of the admins are present.

I agree a built in chat would be easier for people but I also know games such as Planetarion have a link built into their toolbar which opens a browser window using java that brings users directly to the main room maybe something like that would be possible?

i like the idea and GM-oueftete linked me to one the other night when the BB3 games were on.

I think it would only work if the BB's wanted to actively promote it and if the right people were there to make sure that the content was positive for all involved.

I would gladly put my name in the hat to assist both the promotion and to look in frequently to ensure all is in order.

Can an unofficial external chat room be opened by someone more technical than me that has the backing of the BB's so that we can trial it.

If this is coupled by a news release then we can at least see who/how many would actually get involved.

Ricey mentioned what i would consider to be the focal points for the room to incorporate, the idea of a place to hang-out and watch games is also good.... i guess the idea needs to evolve before something full bloodied can come from it.

Shall we put it to the test?

No, if your not online at a specific time, you miss all the great discussion, lets stick to the forum.

There's no reason to not have a chat room - it's not meant to replace the forums, but rather to enhance the experience.

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

A chat room enables a faster paced and more indepth discussion of the game, by the nature of forums the slow pace can hinder useful information being passed especially with others posting useless comments.

The forums today are always the same questions. A chat would enable rookies to learn faster and also allow those who care more about the game discuss it real time. A chat is to compliment the tools we already have and most games have already taken this step, I know hattrick has multiple chatrooms on different servers. If it is something you don't like or don't want to join then the forums will still be here with the same "Which player is better?" "What offense should I run" threads.

I know there is a good chunk of players that sit at their computers watching their games might as well chat between everyone doing the same thing.

Superfly Guy: The forum Post I linked has the instructions to a fully registered permanent chat room. All it needs it more activity and it could possibly develop into something fun. Step by Step ;)
