It is interesting to note that on the one hand you are quite happy for people to have to adapt to different salaries every season, but adjust to a deflation brought about by market forces??? No no no no no no. The horror!!! OMG!!!

No country in the world allows "deflation brought about by market forces". If you're interested in more details on the issue, you'd have to read up on central banking and its role in maintaining price stability. Various college-level courses (Principles of Macroeconomics or Money, Banking and Financial Systems) can provide equivalent information.

Buzzerbeater has chosen to address price issues by adjusting salaries. If you've been long enough in HT, you'd know that HT tried to achieve the same effect by varying ticket prices on occasion -- a strategy that bombed spectacularly mostly due to the fact that the HT team had a very rudimentary idea of what they were doing at the time.

All in all, the game will have a certain structure, so people will have to adapt to something.

Well that too, is management. I don't see why it such a problem for you. Companies IRL have to deal with different market conditions all the time. Only a few, like some banks, have the comfort of government bailouts to see them through.

Lastly, there is no problem for _me_ in this case. I am quite satisfied with the status quo and the mechanisms it offers to keep our simulated economy in check. You are the person who seems to have a problem (both with the explanation that has been provided to you in this thread, and in general with just about anything).

Hattrick is still played by quite a few more users than this game.

In case you wondered, the principal reason for that is that the HT game play is so sophisticated that a trained monkey can gain promotion to the top level, if given enough time.

Thank you for the correction as I am not a member I had to go off research on their site and others. I appreciate you clarifying!

Your point in no way relates to the matter being discussed here. I'm not talking about all changes, of course I accept the game will evolve in many ways on a continual basis. No one is arguing about that. What I am questioning is the necessity of salary adjustments every season. Perhaps we can now agree the game won't fall apart if they don't happen.

Whatever countries allow or don't allow, companies have to adjust to market conditions. They do not remain static whatever a country decides.

I never liked the way the HTs tampered with the economy, just when it seemed the market had reached some kind of equilibrium, they would change something, so I questioned why we needed to have adjustments every season here.

The way you personalise the argument is an example to us all. Talking about me having a problem with just about anything is really wonderful of you. No doubt if I said that to someone I'd get a ban for personally attacking them. Aren't you able to stick to the topic?

Fyi I don't have a problem with just about anything or I'd be responding to every thread. And I'm not going to bother writing I agree posts to everything I agree with. You'd probably ban me for spamming. So I'll usually write when I disagree with something in a topic of interest to me. Maybe that way I'll learn something. Hope that meets with your approval Mr GM sir.

And actually I have gained some insight into how the game works thanks to Edju and Mod-CrazyEye. It is good to know the best players will usually be affordable by the top teams. That is certainly something HT could learn from.

Out of interest why couldn't a trained monkey learn to promote to the top level here, given enough time?

I've had some discussion with a few GMs, last I knew they did not create the game.

And of course I have no firm idea, that is why I questioned the need for the adjustments. Those concerns have been addressed.

Isn't tying salaries to the total amount of money in circulation a market condition? Isn't that similar to how companies need to adjust to things like consumer price indexes and currency values?

I think what you're missing and what the BBs keep trying to explain is that they're not adjusting the salaries every season. The value of the salaries are pegged against the total amount of currency in circulation and automatically change to relation the amount of currency available.

Precisely. Firms in BB have to adjust to market condition which involve reduced cost of holding a specific asset.

You made yourself the topic here all on your own.
I look forward to my ban for disagreeing with you.

I suppose, since I replied to your post, I will get a ban for trolling now.

You'd probably ban me for spamming.

These remarks were uncalled for, and do not pertain to the discussion about the BB economy. If you don't want your persona discussed, leave it out of the confersation.

Out of interest why couldn't a trained monkey learn to promote to the top level here, given enough time?

Because the strategic game play in BB has progressed a bit beyond "set training to Playmaking, set tactics to 3-5-2, rinse and repeat".

Could someone kindly point me to where this announcement was made? I don't see it on the NEWS page link and have been searching for 20+ minutes without success.
