Great job so far!

Scouts from different teams may have scouted the same player but in a differemt match, hence why stsats may be different imo. Stats should still be simular cause they are suppose to be an indication on players skill. However, minutes could play a massive part. a 5/5 player youd expect to be a starter. If that player plays low minutes, could be because of low stamina or being fouled out. If its low stam, then have a look at other stats like turnovers. Fouls could be caused by bad def, being good at d but no handling and poor stam. So multiple factors will come into it which is why it is such a difficult thing to work out. Finally, when i get of this phone and a new computer, i will msg you to send me some of those box scores so i can do my own calculations. Then i will pass on my results onto you and see if any of your calculations match up with mine and go from there. Sorry bout not spacing this out and for any errors with spelling abd grammer. Massive job you are doing and hopefully, it gets people like me who dont spend any money on the draft, back into it, cause it is an exiting feature, yet dissapointing.

Just an update on this.

Have started collecting Player data from those players who are listed. Obviously more will get listed in the coming days, so ill keep my eyes out. Thanks for those who listed straight away.

Its a bit of a hard slog, so if your able to, notify me when you list them.

I dont have anything concrete just yet. Already there is going to be some data missed, because i can't identify who is who. HOWEVER, i have realised that once i collect a whole draft's SALARY info, that will make it easier to split guys who have same height age and star rating.

I havent done anymore work with the two sets of box scores though. Its hard to say whether or not this is an issue. Whatever engine is used to generate the box score is obviously just run for every single player for each user. So 16 box scores are probably generated per player. So there will always be differences.

What im looking for is trends though, so as long as the data gives confident trends, i think it doesn't matter that the box scores are different.

anyways, keep on listing at $1, ill be on the lookout again tomorrow night. ciao for now!

Hi everyone
Ive pretty much collected enough stats to start thinking about results. Ive got about 50 records or so, thus far, which was my aim.

Im still accepting data, especially from people in the ABBL OR div II.3, because i have the most number of box scores there. So anyone who wants to give me data from those leagues (last season) please do.

Does anyone have any preference for stats they would like to see? I was thinking of the following

1 - Some initial results of the box score data - mins, maximums, average scores, and also some Star/grade ratings vs Salary. Salary ranges for the star rating for this season's draft etc.

2 - A matrix showing the correlation coefficient value between every stat and every box score item (so you would get Assists vs Passing, but also Fouls vs Passing and other random stuff like that)

3 - Maybe some funky graphs for those who don't know Correlation very well.

4 - Average data - that is - Average number of points for each JS value. Ave number of Rbs for each RB value- and id present these as a bunch of tables.

anything else?

also - host the data somewhere for people to download and play with.

2 -

We can whack the data on to BBstats if needed.
