You got a nice core of young players on your team. Build those guys up plus with the money u have. Your still in line to be a high threat in this league. To be successful tho, u probably need to train your players up a bit. I mean successful beyond this league.
But yeah, you got the right idea lol.
I'm in the process also, in training my younger players. And also adding more money.
I didn't do to will in the draft. But I did get a PF. Which is really all I needed.
Win lose, or draw. My thing has always been training my players and watch em improve. Pick up young players as needed with high potential and train em up. My main 5 are definitely reaching the end of their careers. At least as everyday players.

Good luck to you this season

I'm not sure if I should go for 3 pops in Outside Def or 2 pops in Outside Def and 4 in Inside Shot. Both would cap out Darren, but the latter would obviously take longer, since he's short. I'd also have to play him at Center. I do like the second plan more though, since he'd be a more versatile scorer. decisions...decisions...

I'll do the power rankings tonight. I'm grinding on another game atm, but I'm almost done. I forgot to do players of the game. I'll do those too

Guys (and gals?), I made a separate power ranking thread and deleted my rankings from this one. My next ranking will be week 5 (after the next 3 games). I might start doing it every three games, so each ranking list has more context behind it, not sure though. There's 15 games left so going by threes works out nicely as. It even leads us into a ranking right before all star break.

Also, can you guys post in season 42 please? lol

I don't know your players like that. My best advice just mess around with it and see what clicks.
You may not be able to know right now tho.
It took Lee quick like 3 or 4 seasons before I trusted him in my starting line-up. At first I had him starting and it was terrible to say the least. And Ed was coming off the bench, backing up Romeu. And i was playing look inside. But when my players improved, I realized that wasn't were their strength was. It took about 5 good games against the better teams in the league at that time, to realize my team has FINALLY turned things around.
And since I know I had or have a fast team I work alot on their energy, so they don't get tired as fast, they can last longer in quarters.

But I think you gotta give your players time to grow and see what you got, and once u figure that out, u can get rid of players that don't fit your scheme and pick players up that'll fit your team

Running Base Offense, until you make big upgrades is a safe bet imo. You can also choose an offense where your best scorer will be more of a focus than he already is.

My favorite offenses:

Base Offense - Standard offense where your team plays to their strengths naturally.

Motion - Great for a budget team with decent scoring guards that aren't exceptional 3 point shooters.

Princeton - I have no clue what personnel you need to make this run efficiently, but I found joy testing things out when I was building.

My least favorite:

Low Post, Look Inside - I think bigs are way too expensive both bidding and salary wise, until you have a big enough arena. You would have to solely have a defensive backcourt to run an affordable Inside focused offense with a small arena. Or you can have a big that can't defend or rebound lol.

R&G - Not a fan of sacrificing Outside Def for good shooters. This is assuming you're on a budget.

As for defense, you can look at the guide in the help section of the forums. It shows which defenses "match" the offenses, although it also depends on your personnel. I just run man-to-man unless I really need to shut down a player.

I run Outside Iso for offense, because I specifically trained Moody to be the centerpiece of it. I guessed what skills would benefit him based on how the Outside Iso is described.

R&G has worked for us, and I don't feel like we're sacrificing anything. But my team is built for it. And the idea behind it is, our opponent will run out of gas before we do. Our goal is to run our opponents off the court and see em Gaston for air on the sidelines lol.
Now of course the best way to slow us down is by making baskets, but if you miss, you better be ready to run. I just feel it puts alot of pressure on the opposing team.

But your right, it all depends on your personnel, if your players do indeed turn into a fast pace unite. I highly recommend stamina being a big run, so that way your players last longer. And you can take advantage of tiring the other guys out.

The one problem with playing an offense where one player is your centrepiece, if that player is shut down by the defense, or gets double teamed. That team is beat. I recommend building a machine, that way it's alot tougher to single out one player. And if you do set your attention on one guy, another player goes off. That's why we have had success. If u look at our games, some nights it's Lee quick leading the way, other nights ED or Romeu and Albert quietly grabs 10 plus rebounds. So, if I were you, I'd try to build a team where no one player stands out. But everyone has their own way.

I know one thing, we are gunna make moody work for his points this weekend. And put pressure on him on the defensive side. Our goal is to attack him, I'm putting my strongest pieces on him. The goal is to tire his ass out lol. And if he refuses to play defense, were just keep scoring on em. I don't know what his stamina is like, but were find out on Saturday. Looking at Moody's defensive states against good opponents are pretty avg. So I think we can expose him in that area.
Attack their weakness

You should hold onto that shay character longer then 21 days. Your get more back for him. And why do you buy these older players and sell em quickly? Also can't you afford his contract, you have a small roster? I haven't checked his states but I'm sure he's getting you good numbers in 48 minutes. Now avg that out in 30-33 minutes a game and maybe he's not getting u the numbers you're hoping for. That could be, maybe. But still hold onto him until you get back like 98% of the money

I buy old players cheap and sell them for profit. I bought him for 196k. Even with the sale fees. I'll get 350k for him right now if he sells. Also, I only wanted him up until tonight, because of my schedule. I don't need him for the next two weeks to win those games(Sharks, bot, bot, bot, Beats). There's no downside to putting him up for sale, because if he sells, I make money, if he doesn't, the fees will continue to drop until he does sell. I can afford his salary but 50k off the books for a few weeks, maybe even the remainder if the season, is an extra 100-400k I'll make.

Basically, because I make a profit with the old guys, it allows me to buy a young guy for the playoffs and try to win. If we lose, I can sell the young guy for a higher price than what I bought him for and get maybe 75-85% back, instead of the 60% for selling him for the same price right away. This is how you have to manage old players imo. Let's say I kept him until I made the regular 97%. His stats would have probably dropped to the point where he's worth 400k or less. So even though I would make more for the sale (if he sells with less stats), I would have paid like 800k in salary money.

I'm probably a lock for playoffs also. 5 bot games gets me to 12 wins. Then if I can win at least 3 of the mid tier games(Beats, Sharks, Wildcats, Music), I'm at 15, which should be enough. If I somehow upset Legends or Bombers without Shah, then that most likely means I beat all the mid tier teams. This puts me at 17 or 18 wins.
