I think that if people do not want to promote, the problem is with them, not the game. It is, if I am not mistaken, a G-A-M-E. If it's making people upset or whatever, maybe it's time to try a new hobby. Win, lose, or bankrupt, I am doing this for fun.
And it's pretty darn fun.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

And I know the Italian situation is just the same as anywhere else: not entirely known what the effects are going to be... Has it ever crossed the mind of all you DII and lower managers that by promoting your season ticket sales will explode?

the problem of many italian top teams is they never expanded their arena (at least not much) saying "it's useless" so those changes caught them off guard

considering the current way the attendance is calculated not expanding much the arena wasn't a wrong decision, because italy's top division is so equilibrated (does this word exist?) every team loses many matches

however i believe a promotion is always welcome

Exactly. If your way of playing until now doesn't fit the new rules, just adapt your strategy, and stop expecting it will be the other way around.

We have yet to witness how the new system for attendance will function, so predicting the end of the game and of the world as we know it is, at best, childish.

well, i'm just speaking about the italian situation, i know only that situation. but, if the world cup champion country think what i wrote, i believe something is going wrong, don't you?

The Italian situation is nothing special, other than they are one of the bigger countries. Most of the teams in the higher divisions are playing since season 1 or 2, so they probably already have a bigger arena, or at least they could have since they are playing a few seasons longer than the teams in the smaller countries.
So in this case the Italians are the ones who won't be hurt that much by the changes compared to 'starting' teams.

And don't use the world champion as a false authority please haha ;)

I think your nearly 100% should be nearly 10%, that would be a better guess imo.

i think the purpose of the game is to win the first division, right? why a lot of people, i'd say nearly 100% of the player in the II division, don't want to get promoted to the DI ? i think, just wondering, something is going really wrong with this game...

and it's the same with the people from III division to the II.

i hope i'm wrong thinnking about that, but i'm quite sure i'm not.

I don't know how things are over in Italy, but I'm in USA II.1 and those clubs are trying pretty hard to get to the NBBA.

just in case you didn't know yet, there is a world beyond the borders of Italia.

We have about 85 countries in BB right now, lets say the average amount of teams in D2 is 40. That's a total of 3400 teams. Italia got 62 D2 teams, that's about 2% of the total. So I wouldn't say the opinion of the Italian teams is the same as the opinion of the 'world'.

So if we assume 100% of the Italian D2 teams don't want to promote (which I'm really questioning), even then that's only 2% of all the D2 teams around, that's quite a long way to 100% total.

But hey enough said about this, lets go back on topic ;)
