For the record:

i've asked for this rule to be clarified (as in added to the Game Manual). I've suggested that a re-evalution of the rule might be needed (altho i understand the current rule because it's draws a clear line about who can and cannot be evaluated). Once i've got some feedback on it, i'll inform whatever decision was taken (altho you should be able to read it in the game manual once it has been cleared out)

For now, i'd like to request everyone to follow the rule as mentioned above untill futher notice. I understand you might find it unfair and unpractical but for now, that is the rule. If GM's start ignoring some small things, then you got to wonder were the line will be drawn about following the rules or not. i've done what i can in terms of asking for it to be added (and possibly re-evaluated) to the game manual. If for whatever reason, the rule is altered, i'd like to appologize in advance for any uncomfort that might have been experienced. But as a GM, i'm supposed to uphold the rules and remind people of them whenever i see they are broken. that is one of the things that GM's are supposed to do (aswell as Mod's but i unsure if England had any mods...)

Regards

Revo

can we just not start up a thread "good english players up for grabs?"
that way anyone can post english guys of interest (even just to get a discussion going!) and if anyone posts any players not worthy im sure we will all give them our opinion saying so?
if any are worthy of NT mention then the coach can post or repost the player etc
clarifying the rules would be worthwhile. i also think it is unjust to try to enforce a rule you arent clear on (though i understand its not your fault!)

I'm clear on the rule about advertising Fluff. However, i had to double check it, cause i couldn't find it in the game manual. I've asked the senior GM's and BB's, and the rule is the one i copy pasted from their forum to make it clear here.

As for your suggestion: "Good english players up for grabs"

Hate to say it, but if someone is on the TL, you can't discuss about em, cause that is advertising. As much as you'd like it or not, it remains advertising. However, if you were to start a topic to discuss players in general, that aren't on the TL, then their is no problem what so ever. However, discussing a player who's on the TL, will mean that attention is drawn to him by using the forum, which comes down to advertising. If you want to discuss players who are on the TL, you'll have to do it somewhere else than on the BB fora, cause the forum rules state pretty clearly that advertising is not allowed.

Should be noted that i haven't fined anyone or issued any warnings for having advertised players on the TL, because the rule wasn't to be found in the Game Manual ( something i've asked the BB's to fix). Ofcourse, now the rule has been clearly posted, you don't have the excuse not to follow it.

ok revo. like i said, i respect your decision to clamp down on the english forums, but monday when I have more time I will contact the senior BB staff.

i am pleased you take your job serious, but if the 3 or 4 posts that we post about players get so seriously attacked, than the 1000s of posts on the german forum and the hundreds on the austrian forum and the for sure many on the italian, spanish etc forums should be closed immediately as well. they are still open as off today and it seems you didnt do your job well enough because I addressed this to you several times before and if you really feel so passionate about the rules than you should do something about this too...

As mentioned earlier, feel free to contact a senior BB staff.

But unless i'm told by a guy with higher autority than me, that advertising is allowed, then that rule stayes in place. And i've already contacted BB-Marin, with the request of:

a) reviewing the rule and b) adding it to the Game Manual, so that all can see it.

And as far as i know, i ain't clamping down on the forum at all. And i'm pretty sure that i've said that untill a senior staffmember tells me that advertising players that aren't on the NT/U21 teams is allowed, then that is it.

Also as their is no player name, no ID, no selling date and no selling price, you can discuss all you want. I've said it before and i'll say it again. As long as it ain't advertising, without nothing that suggests checking a player out, then you can discuss it all you want. But by all means astra, contact senior Staff members. I'll happily answer any questions they send me, and i'll inform each of them step by step what i've done to try and get things solved as soon as possible. So go ahead and contact them. I'll just point em through to the exact thread that i was pointed out, they'll read what was stated their and then either they'll tell me allow advertising and that the rule has changed, or they'll tell me that i was correct in what i did. But seriously, but all means, feel free to contact em.

you said four times i should feel free to contact the BB staff and dont worry I will do so.

and you can be a very proud person to follow the rules so extreme and so to the point. because off course you are perfectly correct to enforce this rule so strictly. and we are all very well aware how good you are in pointing out the rules to everyone. but i cant stand people that want to live so strongly by the rule but only enforce it on a part off the community for whatever dubious reason. whether you are right or not, who cares, if i point you out that on the other language forums the same happens only 100 times worse, I expect you to go on a crusade as well, and off course 100 times worse than you go on a crusade on our forums... but by not doing so, you show me your true face...

ps try to understand what i am trying to say, it might sound harsh or personal, but english is not my mother tongue and i am not able to write my message with political words...

the problem is that "officially" it is not allowed.

what i cant stand is people making such a fuss and starting such a crusade for 3-4-5 players that we post in a month on here when they post literally thousands and thousands on the german forum and i have never seen revo make a comment on there or close it or warn people on there... this kind off behaviour i really cant stand, sorry...

Hey guys,

Since I have yet to see a post from Astra, I'm assuming that GM-Revo is 100% correct. If I am not mistaken, discussing GM's decisions can result in a forum ban, but if that would have happened, Astra's posts would have been deleted by a GM, which they are not. Anyway, the bottom line is we can either discuss players here as GM-Revo stated (meaning no name, no ID, no referrence to the TL and no prize should be stated in the posts) or we could continue the discussion on an offsite forum that has been made for several English communities (we've actually only just completed the making of it). I assume that since Astra has taken the matter to higher ups, that the BB's may have a rule revision, but that means that we'll still be waiting for a long time for the answer, or that soon the other communities will be following the rule as well. Anyhow, for those interested to discuss things on the offsite forum for the English communities, feel free to join here:http://w11.zetaboards.com/BB_ECU/index/. Thank you

i think you still dont understand it :) I never said Revo is not correct, I said exactly the opposite. he is totally correct. And this discussing GM decisions resulting in a forum ban would be the cream on my cake :) I hardly use it anyway but I believe in fair and equal treatment and freedrom off speech. And if they want to ban people for writing non aggresive non provocative non offensive posts than all i will do is celebrate because than I know the GMs and "higher ups" really dont follow the rules.

The NT coach and the U21 coach are allowed to post players. I think only the ones that are currently in the NT or in the U21, but i am not 100% sure about this. The same goes for scouts, I think they can make posts as well, but not perfectly sure how that works. The players that I posted were from the time when I still was a NT coach.

It is cool you created an off side forum. I hope many people will sign up and participate, unfortunatelly due to real life commitments, I do not have the time... But I am sure many other coaches will join up and take part in these discussions.

With regards to bringing up the issue with the "higher ups", I havent had time yet, got 2 new cats and they are a handfull. Trying to bring my cuban wife to europe etc, but next week I will certainly do this.

have a look at this thread. http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...

you cant tell me that all these players are NT or U21 players.

like i said, i have no problem at all when people want to follow the rules. especially when you are a GM. What I cant stand is to invoke the rule/ban for 1 forum where there are posted 4-5-6 players a season and, you allow it and do absolutely nothing against a forum where 4-5-6 a week and many weeks in a row players are posted. and than when you want to do your job well as a GM, and this is pointed out to you, that they do the same on another forum but alot worse and you do nothing, than all i can do is laugh...

do you now understand why i am so annoyed with Revo following the rules? I have nothing against Revo, I have nothing against the rules, but if you want to enforce the rules for the few players we post, than be "GM" enough and do it for all the countries.

I can post a link for the same kind off post for several other countries for example austria...

on top off what you said, most off these players arent being posted by the U21 or NT coach either
