Once players are hooked, it's a great game. So it's about getting them hooked before they quit for some reason.

There are many managers who have played this game for years who still dont understand it.

I reckon having more visibly available resource tutorials on how to play the game, would help get new comers up to speed quicker thus getting them hooked.

Perhaps "sequence the learning" in steps, from basics such as gameshape and enthusiam to the more advanced stuff.

Whilst written tutorials would help, I reckon that youtube video clips, (perhaps interviews from successful Managers) would even be better although of course written words are probably easier to translate to other languages than what verbal voice might be

I think that the game is currently looking much better than a few seasons ago when it appeared that the users were talking to deaf ears about the problems the game was experiencing.

Since then, the tactic predictions were introduced and I noticed that in my league at least, it really diversified the range of tactics used, and in lot of cases the right guess of the tactic proved to be the turning point in the match.

Then the quality of the rookies was improved a bit, and I am now training a 19 year old rookie which has good starting skills to be a solid bench player, even though I did not invest a single cent in the draft.

The positive impact of blank lineups and game shape training is expected to be abated in the near future and the training is more and more important with the inflation of prices and that is for me as a fan of training a welcome thing.

Still, the main problem as far as I am concerned with the game is that it has a slow pace, I would prefer that the season would last much shorter so that there could be much more to do, sometimes there simply isn't anything to do if you are competing in the same league for a while where you know all your opponents quite well and you have a clear training plan and no need for transfers, as it is with me at the moment. I just set the lineup three times a week and wait for Friday to see if any new green arrows will pop up.

So what I started to do, I started writing some articles on my league forum about my team, players, my manager character, played games, and I noticed that people tend to read them regularly. It kind of makes the game more interesting to me, it feels as though I am playing a role-play game in addition to a basketball sim game. Well, it is in some way analogous to real basketball, when I go to watch my favorite team, whether they win or loose, the first thing I will do when I come back home from the game is to read some (or all if I happen to have time) articles in newspapers on how they played, on the press conference, and everything associated with the game.

This partially takes out the problem of the slow pace in BB for me as it gives me something to do between games, I know it cannot work with everyone since not everyone is a fan of role playing but still it can add another dimension to this already interesting game.

Looking at FtPs and PtWs in the industry right now, and monetization, many top games (RPGs, warsimulations, social games, action, puzzle, you name it) are going FtP with PtW and/or selling cosmetics, exclusive items etc. etc.

Sorry mate could you please explain further what Ftps and PtWs are?

Im a little but older than most and not all that techno savvy but Im guessing FtP is Free to Play but I have no idea what PtWs are?

Something that I think could create a buzz is bringing players back from the dead. Loads of great players get lost in the system due to teams going bot, poor managers, etc, but these guys continue to get a paycheck sent to them every week. PUT THESE NO GOOD LOAFERS TO WORK. And make it an event. wheel out a selection at a special time to go on the auction block. Or better yet allow these guys to actually find work, hey I will be happy to accept resumes. Conversely we cannot continue the humputer rights abuse some of us put players through by working them deep into middle age to quench some sinister managers desire to literally work someone to death, players must have the ability to better decide on their own if they are ready to hang it up.

Good for you. I like seeing that instead of some of the complaining on the boards. Good for you!

BB might look into creating a 'shop' where they sell the frazzle dazzle bells and whistles stuff. It probably wont bring a high level of user around or make the game more competitive really...but it will maybe make them money, money to improve and dev...

That’s an interesting idea, as long as its development didn’t actually divert programming resources from the real game.

I agree,. but when is the right age to retire becomes the question. I'm thinking 39. then auto retire. I would also suggest a thing that players would retire if they are not satisfied with minutes and play at a certain agee.

Not only would help finances, it help open up spots in the roster without spending. If we fire them as of today, we still have to pay them ,with retirement we don't have to pay them .

Its about money at the end of the day
