Perhaps something like:
100k per week for 8 scouting points. And 200k for 12 scouting points.
That way it costs less if you scout more efficiently over the season, but those that wish to spend more have the option to do so.

Its not the same to give money each week and at specific time, on your own wish.

There are just too many things that goes to "your" advantage.

the buying points is a bad idea.

the current system is fine , we are not supposed to be able to scout all the players , if we could there would be no way for a top team to get lucky in the draft.

I've been hit now by BB bugs several times big time.
Once I lost ~1M because BB started to Ooops! then my desired rookie had transfer deadline. Since I did huge amount of scouting work to find such local player in previous 4 weeks I bought him next week for +1M price.
Theoretically it's possible I will lose another ~1M with this wrongly calculated SP-s...
It's tough to take such hits.

Well not necessarily, the team might have to spend 1 million dollars to find that lucky pick, and then there is no gaurantee that he will get the player as there may be other teams picking before him.

I think it would be cool because it would add another dimension and strategy to the game.

i can see your point. i guess i just like some surprise to be left in the draft.

hopefully not surprise im a guard with pitiful outside def but dont stress i can hold on to a ball really well , oh and watch this see that i can pass :)

Well, as the season proceeds you can calculate on witch legue position will you be and and so is it logical to invest in to scouting.
Second thing that comes on my mind is that maybe you dont have enough money to invest max, but as you sell one player later you can easily just comprehend that.

Yes but it will cost you more so it is not an advantage. At the moment 10k gets 2 scouts. 40k gets 4 scouts. So 100k could give 8 scouts. Basically it costs more money for less scouts. It is not an advantage. Actually it is more of a disadvantage, however it should be an option available for teams that wish to use it.
