I think there's still a mechanism in place to prevent that

What is it?

It seems like the heights and ages will be enough information to uniquely identify many of the players, and make collusion easy among teams that buy into the combine. A course reading of the baseline ratings should help distinguish most of the others with some degree of probability.

Also, is position information given for any level of scouting?

Hey - so not to overdo this, but Edju can we go back to this discussion? I'm deciding (and I'm sure others are as well) how much to invest in this new system. Do we know what this mechanism Mike mentioned above is? Or any other information on it?

yep - I thought in this thread I saw the "no free looks" statement. I just reread the announcement and the term "baseline' was used.

Whats the difference?

The players will be ranked in order 1-48.

Most, but not all, of the players will be rated correctly (i.e. there will be some players ranked highly who turn out to suck, like Darko Mlicic, and there will be players ranked lower that do not suck, like, say, Glen Davis).

Your scouting will reveal if these players are rated correctly or not, and no one will get any free looks at those.

Sorry to but in on this forum but with the bots now drafting smarter are you going to adjust the guidelines of which players get transfer listed when a team gets a new owner because now it becomes more likely a national team caliber prospect becomes wasted and untrained. Or is this one of the catches that comes with a new shiny toy? As it stands now I am not 100% sure who goes to the market when a team goes under so this concern may be obsolete but In my opinion all 18 y/o should be sent to the market when a team goes under. Just my ramblings and concerns.
