Could you take a step back and put yourself in the shoes of someone who is starting to play this game in the last season or 2 versus talking like someone who is sitting in the top division?

I was under the impression the added revenue from games was the bonus..... has that changed?

as long as you are in the NBBA you have an opportunity to play in B3

an extra opportunity to get into the B3, 15/16 teams will disagree that being in the NBBA gets you some kind of auto-bid.

You continue to ignore the challenge of B3 on top of needing to do well in the NBBA (or other competitive D.1), and avoid getting picked off in the cup. Both the league/country cup will likely provide more revenue for a top team anyways.

Sure, but the winner of the top division (that would be the NBBA) gets an entry. If they can't beat you 2 out of 3 after running the gauntlet, well the higher level or revenue gained should compensate enough to maintain the level needed up there.

I understand the challenge and am not questioning the level of effort it would take. More so to the point there are other factors that are impacted here that shouldnt be.

That said, you have the arena size, players and money to address those issues a lot more effectively than someone like me.

I know exactly what the whole picture is. I've started on 5th division on HT and climbed my way up. Teams in the 1st division are the best teams, and the champion is the best among those (at least in that season) and for that it deserves to be rewarded.

Teams from higher divisions are better than teams from lower division and deserve to get the profit from this. The ones that are not better will drop and the ones below that are good will move up. It's the natural way of things. Here in BB we have several examples. Look at the Springfiled Drunkers, that started in the 3rd division in Italy and climbed all the way up to the Italian National League Title.

There are no excuses. And no complaints about B3 are reasonable.

Well, on the plus side, my additional income the last two games was a huge $ 200'000 (for both games), I probably got 2 1/2 - 3 additional Trainingsessions (Training 2 Positions, e.g. C, PF), I think that amounts to about one pop for one player...

On the negative side, my Starting SF got injured for 2 weeks (without buying a new player, I'm either out or the minutes for the others accumulate - meaning bad form), I have kept 2-3 players I would otherwise have sold (additional salary around $40'000).

Result: Gained $ 160'000 - Lost one key player for at least 4 league games, got 1 additional Pop.

So yes, I have made a bit of added revenue. But I can't see that this is giving me any huge advantage in my league.

And YES, I think I have earned it, the fun of playing B3.

If you had to buy additional players for B3, then you might well be looking at an economic loss instead of a small gain (160000 is not that much).

I do not think as B3 as a moneymaker, only for the top teams.

Future tournaments will only include the top division winner, the league champion, any former B3 champion, and the reigning World Championship manager.

The only reason the tournament is so large this season is that any team that would have qualified had the tournament existed got to play.

And yes, there is indeed a bonus for winning a lower division, namely a season ticket holder boost and the increased revenues from being in a higher division.

As I understand it, the size of this BBB is a one-off event. Since it's the first one, they included all the winners from all of the previous seasons and allowed them to participate. After this, it will be only two teams (or one) from each country. The winner of I.1 and the tournament champion.

Hmm, I don't see that I wrote anything about BBB being financially disadvantageous. I clearly stated how much I earned in the first two rounds. I still think, this amount does in no way distort the competition in my league (or in any other), if you think otherwise, please give us some hard data instead of these "it is clearly evident" statements.

I like the BBB tournament (with income, training time and injuries), and I would like it even if I was not allowed to play!
