I think we are not mixing things up, I agree with your proposals, this all would just help making the blocking skill more important. For now it just seems to be a one-on-one "can i block your shot or can i not block it" skill, with very few influence on the matchplay. It´s just the question how difficult all those changes are to be done by the BBs and how much it would change the game engine at all...

After all I don't have really great shotblockers so please don't rush things!:) (I'm unbiased on how it is affected by FTs I have both great and miserable FT shooters so far).

i have a question but perhaps a bit off topic

but whats the relation between defensa, shot block and fouls commited by a player ?

since i have excellent player in attackin against my rival with very bad defense (inside for example) yet my player never seems to draw enough fouls my guess if you guard a player which is many times better that you can defend you either give away 40 pints or foul him

in the other side of the field, the average player gets more fould for my player with average defense algo

then how is it decided in game about fouling ? why entire quarters with no fouls ? whats the poing of having depth in the squad ? sorry if this not belong here

Yes,i think we are discussing the way to implement shot blocking if there will be a change
Shot blocking doesnt' make a player so stronger as some traineers wants
the second shot blocking player in the NBA is the reserve centre of Denver Nuggets...
A little less useful could became, but a very little

Steal is a gamble. When you are defending you have to stay in front of your man trying to make driving difficult for him, you have to be ready to put hand in his face and stretch out when he's going to shoot or you can try to steal the ball (either when he is receiveng the ball or he is having problems with handling in thep lay) But if you go for the steal and fail you are creating a hole in defense. So I can live with stealing as a part of defense skill - it just reprrsents how good decision maker the player in deciding whether he should go for a steal or not. There is no penalty in normal settings (correct me BB men if this is not true) for traing to get a steal, no harm to defense. There is only FCP which is more about traps and is more about team effort than about a decision of a defender in one on one situation.

Sorry for a bit off topic.

I believe that shot blocking either has to become more useful or eliminated. In its current format it:

-serves very little purpose in-game. Perhaps you will block a few but this has only a small impact on the outcome. Plus, if the opponent player has good enough skills, this negates your shot blocking anyways.
-because it is a skill, new users make the assumption that it is useful. I have seen many users post on the forum that it makes a contribution to inside d, which is clearly false.

Now don't go telling me that people should know better. Why? Because it has been discussed on the forums? Only a small percentage read the forums and even then they would still have to find the relevant post. Not to mention some of the misinformation out there.

They should do their own research? That takes time and experience. It took me 2 seasons before I figured this one out. Granted, I'm slower than the average guy, but so is your average user. ;-)
