The first impression a new player gets is usually the graphics. The absence of jerseys is a serious minus for keeping new players. My 2 cents...

Buzzerbeater needs something new to it where anyone can log on and be active doing something whenever they log on. Whether its playing a friendly pick up game or maybe put in a system to do 3vs.3 with someone online just to keep it fun. I hate coming online and fined there is nothing to do and i log off. I still am active because I like buzzerbeater but not everybody will stay active when you only have 3 games a week.

You will find that 3 games a week is a lot. You can increase it to 4 if you are part of a PL.

Most other online manager games are only 2 games a week

There are also NT and B3 games to follow too so really there are games on 6 days of the week if you choose to follow.

Also you will find that there is a lot more activity and interest once you get into the higher divisions.

I believe you with that as im pretty avtive in D.IV but for someone new it could make them not want to play. There just has to be a way to keep the new players here more.

Maybe, maybe not.

Buzzerbeater isn't shrinking currently.

Well, if you look here (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/country/95/overview.aspx) there are 19 "active" teams, but only five have logged on lately. And so it is most all over the community.

Older than the rest ...

and before a month it was 1 or 2 active team ;) And it is quite normal that just a small part of new user stay, probadly it is possible to increase those number but even a perfect free game will loose a lot of the new customer who just want a short impression of it.
