I don't want to discourage you from posting. For instance, if you have two pops on a player, then it would be good to know how many trainings happened in between.

Outside Shooting
SG:
Trains JS @ ?
Trains JR @ ?
Trains DV @ ?

PG/SG:
Trains JS @ ?
Trains JR @ ?
Trains DV @ ?

Team:
Trains JS @ ?
Trains JR @ ?
Trains DV @ ?

From BBCharles, "Driving and handling are very, very similar skills, and training either one will now also result in about 80% of training on the other."

Not surprisingly from the info above, Outside Shooting training also trains Handling to some degree. I had a pop this week.

that seems pretty fast

training PF/C:

I just trained a 19yo in inside shot two weeks in a row (both weeks w/ 48+ mins), and didn't get a pop. This is with a 10 trainer too.

For the most part, they pop every two weeks, but sometimes its once every 3.

Well, I've been training rebounding (C/PF) for 3 weeks in a row now (Level 9 trainer) and have had some good results:

3 players popped each week after training (all had 47+ min).Ages: 20,19,19
2 players popped twice in 3 weeks (all had 48+ min) Ages: 19,18
1 player popped in 3 weeks (25 min - POP, 8min, 0 min) Age: 19

I was surprised with 3 pops in 3 weeks, I doubt whether they would all pop again if I stick to rebounding again next week. I'll now switch to Inside defence for a few weeks and see how the training goes.

I've been training JS for my guards over the past 3 weeks and here's all of the data i've gathered so far. The skill levels are in the number values instead of word values (respectable=7):

first 2 weeks: lvl 9 trainer, this week lvl 10

6'3" 19 YO PG-partial training 1st week, full training wk 2&3-JS pop: wk 1 & 3, JR pop wk 1, DV pop wk 2
JS–6 to 8 DV-6 to 7 JR–4 to 5

6'4" 24 YO SG-full training all 3 weeks-all pops wk 1
JS–6 to 7 DV-0 JR–7 to 8

6'4" 20 YO PG–full training all 3 weeks-all pops wk 2
JS–3 to 4 DV-6 to 7 JR–0

6'2" 23 YO SG-full training all 3 weeks-JS & JR pop 1st week, nothing wk 2, JS pop wk 3
JS–6 to 8 DV-0 JR–6 to 7

6'2", 19 YO SG-partial training all 3 weeks @ pg (wk 1: 29 min, wk 2: 30 min, wk 3: 32 min): pop during 2nd week
JS–4 to 5 DV-0 pops JR–0

6'5", 21 YO SG-no training 1st week, wk 2: 27 min, wk 3: 47 min), all pops most recent training
JS-7 to 8 JR-7 to 8 DV-0

Hope this helps shed some light on JS training for guards. As far as I can gather, the better skilled a player is in JS, the faster his skill increases (unless my 20 YO PG just had really low sublevels before i trained him). I might train for one more week and see what happens, or switch to pressure PG/SG and do some research there. Also, having a player play for more than 90 minutes will harm his stamina. Just so you know. Also, if anyone has an excel spreadsheet they use to do this sort of tracking, please send it to me (BBmail me first). I know this info is kind of messy but hopefully it has all the necessary information.

Not very likely. As a matter of fact, highly unlikely.

Not much analysis to report but I had a monster week of pops... 10 in total training one to one for forwards!! After a week of JS a week of OS and a week of Passing training I was expecting a fair few and I got them!

My new 938k C signing popped in 3 areas! (IS to Prolific and DV/HD to awful) My SG got 3 pops too! JS to prof HD Average DV Mediocre, my PF got JS to Proficient and HD to strong.. and 1 pop each on DR and IS for my SF and PG.... I had 1 guy who got 36 mins who didnt pop anywhere and I know he has some serious sub levels brewing!

Depending on minutes this week I am going for SB for C/PF and possibly SF... i need to spend at least 3-4 weeks on this and might try and be patient and include 8-9 players if I can juggle the playing time ok.... if i opt to go down this route i will try and learn something about the 3 position training...

oh and i wake up to a message from an NT coach saying my player isnt developing to his liking... ha... maybe i am doing something wrong!

The heights of the players:

1) 216cm - 3 pops in 3 wks
2) 216cm - 3 pops in 3 wks
3) 213cm - 3 pops in 3 wks
(These players had 47+ mins for each game)

4) 206cm - 2 pops in 3 wks
5) 211cm - 2 pops in 3 wks
(Both players had 48+ mins for each game)

6) 218cm - 1 pop in 3 games (25min, 8min, 0 min)

Certainly it seems that the case of taller players improving more rapidly in rebounding seems to be true. At least in 3 weeks.

Also, if anyone has an excel spreadsheet they use to do this sort of tracking,

A heads up for those who don't know:

You can copy and paste the player skill numbers from BuzzerBeater Scout into Excel or OpenOffice.

First make sure BBS is set to numerical rankings for skills.

Simply click on a player and use control-C to copy the data line. Then past it into excel. You'll need to allow for the blank column in front of and following the name. (I think one these pastes the uniform number, which I don't have). You'll have to delete the age and height columns, which don't change. I delete DMI, but you can leave it in, if you want. I delete the position calculations, too, but again you can leave them if you want to see the 'effect' of your training on your players projected performance.

To track changes, you'll need to have weekly .XMLs available. Make sure your players are on the same rows of each spread sheet (after transfers, you'll need to redo your sheets). Then enter the formula that subtracts last week's JS rating from this week's. Copy that across all remaining columns of the row. Copy the formulas in that row all they way down to your last player. you'll now have mostly zeros, but a few '1's in the cells where you had pops. There might be '-1's in stamina, but life has its disappointments, too.

This will also calculate experience pops, the only way I've found to do so automatically.

Hope this helps others track pops.
