I know, that's why I made sure to mention "if it did shut him out earlier".

That's the only point that needs to be made really. There's no need for the rest of the rationalizations people are coming up with, is what I was trying to say.

but the excuses people are coming up with in this case are ridiculous:

You are ridiculous. Choose your words. You sound angry. :)

People shouldn't "create problems like these" by setting the list at the last minute? You mean by... sticking to the correct time frames?

Yes. You won't have problems that way. And like last season neither will other users. As I said, draft was lagging because some people didn't set the list in time whatever the reason (being senile or deadline bug). :)

The guy was apparently at least 4 hours early anyway.

Apparently he wasn't. :)

The wording is actually BEFORE the 26th? What's the point of a deadline then?

Exactly. Deadlines are flexible. As I said, I think Latvia had a display bug because everywhere else the deadline was 25.11. if I'm not wrong.

Technically you could say before the year 3000, then the deadline could come randomly at any point in the season and it would still be correct! Get real.

Not really randomly. Deadlines are around specific dates/hours etc. It's just that they can move before or after the time specified. I think you too agree on this.

And you don't need that "Get real" part.

I could have gone with "naive" or something worse, I didn't feel naive conveyed my meaning, so I chose "ridiculous" :) It wasn't a personal affront to anyone, it was an opinion on a specific part of the discussion. Don't take it too seriously, I can assure you there's no ill intent or anger.

Yes. You won't have problems that way. And like last season neither will other users. As I said, draft was lagging because some people didn't set the list in time whatever the reason (being senile or deadline bug). :)

Well, as I specified, if the guy's statement about his timing in relation to the displayed deadline is true, then he did stick to the correct time frame. Again, if his claims are true, he got shafted because of a bug. That would definitely be the game's fault, not his. Yes, he could have prevented it, but it shouldn't be there in the first place.

Exactly. Deadlines are flexible. As I said, I think Latvia had a display bug because everywhere else the deadline was 25.11. if I'm not wrong.

Well, they really shouldn't be, unless explicitly specified. If Latvia did have a display bug, then it's definitely not the guy's fault.

Not really randomly. Deadlines are around specific dates/hours etc. It's just that they can move before or after the time specified. I think you too agree on this.

Sorry, I don't. As I said, unless explicitly specified as such, a deadline should be relatively accurate, otherwise it loses its meaning. My "year 3000/randomly" example was, of course, incredibly exaggerated, but it's just meant to demonstrate a point about the importance of the semantics in this case. I just don't think the word "before" should be interpreted like that under these specific circumstances and I just stretched the offset in timing to make it clearer why.

As for the "get real" part, again, don't pay much attention to it, there is no implied aggression ;)

Sorry, but this situation shows how well you take care of your team money. For me if something is important (in BB case it's draft, in real life for example bills) then I do it in the first place. Laziness brings such effects, because I can't believe you did not have 5 minuts from Monday to Friday to set draft order. But this is only my opinion.

And it was accurate. Relatively. Wasn't on 26th as first specified but on 25th. Now THAT'S relatively accurate. :)

Are you people still arguing about this?

You guys realize that there's nothing you can say in this thread that will change you draft order for this season, right?
