End of season (very short) summary:

Two newly promoted teams will make the playoffs, congratulations to Kelana Jaya Knights and Chronic Cynics, they will respectively face GinaKia and MyBBTeam. The 2 other playoff games will see the most frequent confrontation of all MBBA history: KwaiWah vs. Nick Of Time. On the other side, come OWN me will face PeeJay Reds.

Congratulations to Double Lee and RedDevilz Basketball Club for reaching the 5th place and avoiding the playdowns. In playdowns, Red East Devils should get two easy wins against the unmanaged Ampang Stuporsonics while Damientor will fight ElectroLockz as the Big 8 team has one of its best players injured for 2 weeks.

Telok Air Tawar Fusion decided not to stay in MBBA after going bankrupt, it will official next season. Ghostbusters had been unlucky with some bad injuries but they fought hard to get 7 wins, as many the #6 but the point difference is cruel for them and they will have to go back to Division II.

Congrate to all teams this season.

It has been really challenging season and see some great /surprise games.

Ghostbusters fought hard and is a shame to be relegated due to points different. It proved how close the league is coming.

Ampang, what a legend and taiko here, wish him all the best.

Looking forward to next season with more stronger teams! Cheers.

Thank you very much, I was lucky that my opponent made a mistake for the first game.

I'm proud that a 100% Malaysian team won the MBBA title. I'm proud that a Great 8 team won the MBBA title. I'm proud that my starting 5 was composed of 5 NT players. I'm proud to have beaten some great teams. I hope I will do well to represent Malaysia next season in B3.

I would also like to congratulate MBBA new comers: Malaysia Tigers, NovaRising and MadzBeater.

Just for the record, the league winner bonus is 400k.

And the league runner up bonus is $200K. I wonder if the third game will have any arena income if played

No, it doesn't have anymore. They introduced this new feature this season to avoid finals voluntary being played in 3 games due to additional revenues.

Starting with this season, the BB Basketball Federation is making a small change the way the league finals work. Currently, teams have an incentive to go to a tie-breaker match in the finals because of the additional revenue that both teams receive. The income ended up being substantial enough that the winner of the first match would often lose the second match intentionally in order to go to a third game, since they were confident that, with the home-court advantage, they could guarantee a win, and this is something the Commissioner frowns upon.

So, as of this season, attendance income of the third match is replaced with rewards for both the league winner and the runner up, whether or not there ends up being a tie-breaker game. The amount of the reward should be pretty similar to the average tie-breaker match income, so teams don’t lose out under this new system.
