I also started this discussion in the (Minor) suggestions forum (273519.580). I share your view, but I think it's important to have premium features to pay for. Ease of use like search functions should indeed not he offered at a premium, I would much rather see speed of progress be something to pay for. Of course it needs to be carefully and thorougly worked out, but I think that would be something that could generate a lot more income.

I generally agree with this. Some stuff should be made available to everyone and yours are good examples. I think enough stuff should remain for supporters (like the TSP search, bookmarks, PLs etc) so that they have some incentive to be a supporter. I must say I don't think many users use private forums and federations, but I might be mistaken.
