Second Team:
Jokehim Maniacs II
It would make sense to change Big 8 and Great 8 between seasons.

Rank teams according to:
1) Non-bot relegated team
2) Best regular season of non-promoted teams
3) Second best during regular season of non-promoted teams
4) ....
13) Best team promoted from lower division
14) ...
16) Worst team promoted from lower division

If 1) is bot it is placed behind worst non-bot team according to rating above and other teams would be moved to 1) and so on. Similarly it would be for all bot teams from 2-16. It would be placed last in queue.

Then 1), 4), 5), 8), 9), 12), 13) and 16) would be in Great 8 and other teams in Big 8.

Drawback is that the rivalry will be lower as you will not meet same teams twice during a season. Much bigger advantage that the two best teams actually are quite likely to meet in Playoff Final and that it will less chance that one of the conferences will have a major benefit from much lower competition.

I also would not mind moving teams from divisions as some leagues like mine are pretty strong which means that some teams that deserve to be promoted will have to wait long while other leagues almost only consists of bots ...

Hey I went 22-0 in my Division V league, but lost my first finals game in OT to a very good team. The next finals game is on the road, so I am in danger of losing the series. Since I had a great regular season, what are the odds I get bumped up to Divison IV?

The odds depend on how many bot teams will be relegated from divisions I, II, III, and IV.

I would say offhand that the odds are extremely good that you will find yourself in Div IV, just my opinion from several years of observations...Pappy

In season 7 I scouted all division III (USA) series counting the bot teams not allready due to relegate because of standing. I also scouted all of the Div IV series looking for good record-no championship teams. I could have made a mistake, but if not I found that no team from IV USA auto-promoted with lower than 20-2 record, so if you were sitting at 19-3 or worse and didnt win the finals, you stayed put. I am inclined to believe that we will see a decline in auto-promotion as the seasons pass. With more teams filling out the bottom of the pyramid and the more dilligent and hard-core managers rising up the pyramid, we will see less 'quitters' for lack of a better term.

For those hoping to autopromote, hope this helps. It took me hours last season, and I am not up to it this year :P

Hello all friends.. I have a question about lucky loser. My team plays play off finals right now. My rival last entered the game at 15/04/2009. If he/she does not enter the game a fed days his/hers team will be a bot team. I lost the first game. If my rival wins the series while his/hers team was a bot team which team will promote? Is the bot team promote a non-owner team or my team promote because of the playing finals?

The team that wins the finals will promote. If that team is also a bot it will then demote, on the same day. If you lose the finals, you will have to have a good enough record and PD to bot-promote or you will stay where you are.

Well you should also consider that he is playing in Div.5, while your scouting was made for Div.4. I would assume that it's easier to get bot-promoted from div.5 to div.4 then it is from div.4 to div.3, because there tend to be more committed players in higher divisions.
After a bit of reasearch in Italy's div.5, for example, I've found that last season many teams were bot-promoted with a 19-3 record.

Absolutely correct. I made sure to say what division and country I scouted, and targeted my response at everyone. Just sharing some scouting reports and thoughts on the bot promotion process. I bot-promoted from USA V to IV with an 18-4 record following season 6.

Good clarification, thanks.

question:

in USA division 5 only about the first 50 leagues have humans, and the rest are completely bot filled (about 200 bots get first place in the other leagues). instead of the 200 bots in empty leagues promoting will the next 200 non-bot teams in the first 50 leagues move up instead?
