So wait, let me get this straight.

People are saying "lol, you spent more points that they should've known that you would have" to the people who have spent too many points and finished with 0, 1, or 2 points and barely had any players scouted fully due to the group demonstration followed by the scouting combine (or maybe just the former with a few upper players scouted)...

but the people who overspent to the extent that they used MORE THAN they would have been allotted get a full reset, probably with a few numbers written down as to which players they had fully scouted/were worth it (like any reasonable human being would)? I know it's a small percentage of users in this latter situation, but it's a very harsh double-standard that has screwed plenty of users out of their points, while others have been given a complete reprieve -- a bonus, even, for over-spending.

i agree that is unfair but seriously what can we do? its done, and unless you have a time machine to fix everything, just deal with it

I'm sorry guys if this has already been discussed, I tried to go through this monster thread but I didn't find an answer: the draft instructions say that scouting a player once costs 1 point, scouting him twice costs 2 additional points.

So, that means that fully scouting a player costs 3 points, right? Just to be sure, before I try to think of any strategy.

And, ahem, did anybody try the Group Demonstration option and is willing to share how inaccurate the baseline ratings are? I was wondering if one can expect to find any 4-ball or even 5-ball in this way...

Thank you.

I followed several guys who make it and there is a general consensus: it is pretty inaccurate.

Thank you, that helped.

And btw, so far I've only scouted a 5-ball player and I got a 5-ball star rating, so 100% accuracy for me. :)

But no really, even factoring the baseline inaccuracy I still think Group Demonstration is hardly worth it, unless you know you will have a very low pick and you want to spot some decent, mid-level players.
In my draft list I have 19 1 or 2-ball players, I think I'd rather spend those 10 points on 10 players with a base of 4 or 5 balls.

Still curious to hear other peoples' opinion, of course.

Well I found 2 players with 5 star rating and about 5 players with 4 star rating. So I think it's definitely worth the 10 points, at least it was in my case.

When I did group demonstration 6 of my scrubs turned out to be 5 ballers. 4 of them turned out to be 18 so I think the demonstration was the best thing I did.

Eight of my guys from the group demonstration ended up with 5-ball star ratings, four of whom are 18 years old. On the other hand, the two 5-ball baseline guys I scouted both ended up being 4-ball star rated.

I must have a really crappy scout...

I found 9 five ball players and two 4 ball players out of the worst 19.

Maybe my league had a lucky group of players.

But still I don't trust my scout :0. So now I have to have each of those guys in for practice and spend 40K for the next 4 weeks.

Scouting the best players from the stat line seemed to indicate the scout does better when he actually sees them play !

Tested on one of the 5 star unscouted players...he ended up being 3 star when watched.

Only will have 16 scouting points. Hopefully I will get lucky with those and find some 5/5'ers. Got 8 chances on 7 5 star+1 4 star. Thinking my odds are against me. Thinking I may find some 4/5 and 3/5 though considering the atrocious stat lines of the players.

Found 2 5/3's 18 year old's thus far. Thinking if I get some decent picks, that I will train around them for next year. Even though I am training "bigs" this year...I suppose the tax will affect me at some point. But right now its not trade killer. I am also at a level where all my players are cheap, so there is little incentive to keep training short or big.

Roll the dice in my case and find some 5/5'ers hopefully.
