I have one question...

It is about doctor with massage specialty...and it says:
Massage: Players who play too many minutes in a given week will not experience as severe a drop in game shape.

My question is does the level of doctor affect how much he will reduce "too many minutes" in game shape?
Or specialty is specialty no matter of staff level it has same effect for all?

And what is the perfect number of minutes that player can play weekly that his GS doesn't drop (with massage doctor)?

The specialty works at the same level regardless of the level of staff.

You know you're not getting an answer for this.

Thank you.

Something strange happens with game shape update 1 week ago, so I though that something was changed...

Nothing has changed with the game shape update.

A bit late but here is what I conclude from the rules and my observations concerning the start of the season:

not only the minutes of previous weeks count (they do) but also stamina training downsidw.

I don't think stamina training affects game shape in any way.

As far as I'm concerned and please feel free to disagree, a massage coach has practically no advantage at all. I don't see what valid reason there is to add a feature which has perhaps maximum 5% upside to the minutes allowed.

But hey I could be wrong.. i would be shocked if anyone has noticed a big difference and even 10% would give a margin of +6-8mins a week..... if the % for taping or National Appeal or for the aging coach is the same then all of these are just pretty cosmetic.

If you don't know where i'm going next.............stay tuned!!

Yeah, gotta agree here. Was even thinking about starting a thread in the Help section or something about it just to get some feedback.

I had a doctor with massage skill all through last season and at the very high end my players would get 75-80 minutes a week but my game shape still wasn't where i expected it to be a lot of the time.
I've gotten a different doctor now after a spate of injuries (level 5 my ass) but the new guy still has Massage skill. Now that all of my players are healthy again, we'll see how it goes this season i guess.

Oh, I thought it would. Am I entirely lost or is it rather that you have found out it doesn't (and I am not the only one assuming it does)?

In my opinion, game shape is one of the most hard things to get managed right in BB. I tnink it's just unfair if there is a random finger in it, because it's enough challenging to make one player get the "correct" range of minutes (between 50 and 70, as far as i know) in one week.

If there isnt a big random factor in game shape - and i hope not - my theory goes with some kind of history in player's minutes through his career. Just look at these numbers, taken from my roster, starting this season.

Player A, weeks 1, 2 and 3: 12,57 and 31 minutes ; game shape 7,7 and 8;
Player A has always been a bench player. He never played too much minutes but can manage to get always around 7 and 8 in game shape (but never 9!).

Player B: 72, 52, 74 ; 7, 7, 7
My best player, a tipical starter. Maybe around 65-70 min/week average through his career. I had always get him around 8 and 9 in game shape along the seasons.

Player C: 67, 52, 76 ; 7, 8, 9
A tipical starter as well, although maybe he averages around 60 min/week. Look at minutes for player B and C. Almost identical, although player C had increased GS from 7 to 9, while player B remained at 7.

So, if past weeks minutes are considered in GS formula, and if there isn't a big random effect in it, i can say that player's history minutes average - maybe some seasons - can have some effect in players GS. Maybe some deviation from those average minutes (look at those 52 min in player can make a decrease in player GS, i don't know...

I just don't want anyone to say "oh nevermind, there's a random finger in it, just make them play between 50 and 70 and pray".

There is certainly a small random factor to game shape, and that mirrors real life.
