My draft has 17 players that are 18 years old.
And at least 7 of those are really bad.
So not many good players in my draft.

exactly

I have scouted all the 18 year olds and all but 10 of the 19 year olds and there are a ton of useful players in my draft.
7 x 5 ball 18 year olds
4 x 4 ball 18 year olds
5 x 3 ball 18 year olds
6 x 5 ball 19 year olds

All of these I consider to be potentially worth drafting however the big factor is the potential. Half of these will have a potential that will make them not worth training for me (my minimum is All Star) but still that leaves 11 great players that I could train or sell. A pity I am drafting last but with most coaches having a LOT less information on potential this season I have a much better chance of picking up a player late in the draft with 3-4 ball star rating but 5 ball potential. In fact I will bet with this new system there isn't a single 3 ball player in the world who has had his potential checked, in the old system at least a few players in the league would have randomly scouted their potential and seen if it was 5 ball. I argue that in terms of potential this new system is MORE random.

3 balls are useless, subtract them from the count. Also the 19yold have low value if they have not very high potential and skills
Some of the 4 and 5 balls are also useless, and other will have low potential.
I bet you have much less than 11 good players in the draft

You can know the potential of the players that you want, the new system is much much much less random than the old,but if you spend points in a so dispersive way it's obvious that you can't have informations about potential

I never had one but would an 18 year old, 6'0" MVP potential with $3,000 starting salary really be useless? If I ever draft a bloke like that I will be keeping him for sure and making him into a bonza player. 3 ball 19 year olds are useless!

If this guy (Karenn) ran BB, each team will have 5 star, 5 pot rookies every draft.

That's on top of 2 million payroll...

in division 3...

in Italy.

I'm not sure I was lucky. I'm pretty sure I selected this guy as my first pick in the Draft, because I don't mind getting a 19yr old. For my team, my situation, I don't have a problem with 19yr olds.

If you think/feel that you really, really can only survive on 18 year old draftees, then go ahead and try to get them. I'll be happy to take those 19 year olds who may become almost as great, and having a much better chance of actually selecting such a great draftee.

BTW: I don't envy your Italian position. Most Italian Div4 teams would kick my Div 3 ass any day...

I don't care about salary,I care about starting skills. You can have a 4k salary G with atrocious/pitiful/awful Od that is perfectly useless.
3k salary Gs at their best will not have great starting skills, more often if they have high rebound/shot blocking means that have bad primaries

The 5 ball category is very large, you can draft the phenomenon,as the good player,as sometimes also some very bad player(I drafted a 5 ball 5 potentail rating G with all respectable except for atrocious in OD).
You drafted the phenomenon this time, but if you drafted "only" the good player or worse, you would lose an entire season of training than a 18yo with good but not exceptional skills
The value of a season of training is not low....

If the 7k 19yo draftee will became the rule and not the exception,I will consider to draft the 19yold...
